Netflix Music has released a soundtrack album for the streamer’s original documentary Secret Lives of Orangutans. The album features the film’s original music composed by David Mitcham (Dancing with the Birds, The Last Orangutan Eden, The Elephant, the Emperor and the Butterfly Tree, Wonder of Song) and performed by The Dream Town Orchestra. The film is written and directed by Hallie Meyers-Shyer (Home Again) and stars Michael Keaton, Mila Kunis, Carmen Ejogo, Lauren Benanti, Kevin Pollak, Michael Urie, Viven Lyra Blair, Danny Deferrari, Nico Haraga and Andie MacDowell. Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the sci-fi/horror movie Alien: Romulus directed by Fede Alvarez and starring Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Spike Fearn and Aileen Wu. The film’s original music is composed by Benjamin Wallfisch (It, Blade Runner 2049, Shazam!, Twisters, Hidden Figures, The Flash, The Invisible Man). Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today and Mutant will release a vinyl edition in the coming months. Also opening wide is the family adventure drama My Penguin Friend directed by David Schurmann and starring Jean Reno, Adriana Barraza, Alexia Moyano, Rochi Hernández, Nicolás Francella, Juan José Garnica and Pedro Urizzi. Fernando Velazquez (The Impossible, A Monster Calls, Crimson Peak, The Orphanage, Hercules, Devil) has composed the film’s original music. A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score (performed by the Euskadiko Orchestra / Basque National Orchestra) is expected to be announced soon.
