Intrada Records has announced a soundtrack album featuring the world premiere release of the scores for two movies from Paramount Pictures scored by composer Michael Small (Marathon Man, Klute, The Stepford Wives), including the music for the 1984 drama First Born directed by Michael Apted (Goldeneye, The Mask of Zorro) and starring Peter Weller, Christopher Collet and Teri Garr. Also featured is the score for the 1972 thriller Child’s Play directed by Sidney Lumet and starring James Mason, Robert Preston and Beau Bridges. Both scores are composed and conducted by Small. ‘Locke’ Soundtrack Details

Fiction Records will release a soundtrack album for the drama Locke. The album features the film’s original music composed by Dickon Hinchliffe (Out of the Furnace, Winter’s Bone). The soundtrack will be released overseas on April 21, 2014. Details on the domestic release will be added to this article soon. Locke is written and directed by Steven Knight (Eastern Promises, Dirty Pretty Things) and stars Tom Hardy, Ruth Wilson, Olivia Colman, Andrew Scott, Tom Holland and Bill Milner. The movie follows a man who has the perfect family and a dream job, but a phone call forces him to make a decision that will put it all on the line. Alex Heffes to Score Stephen Frears’ Lance Armstrong Biopic

Alex Heffes has signed on to score Stephen Frears’ upcoming currently untitled biopic about Lance Armstrong. The film stars Ben Foster, Lee Pace, Dustin Hoffman, Chris O’Dowd, Guillaume Canet and Jesse Plemons are co-starring. The movie is based on the book Seven Deadly Sins: My Pursuit of Lance Armstrong by David Walsh and chronicles the rise and fall of the pro-cyclist through the 90s and early 2000s. John Hodge (The Beach, Trainspotting) has written the screenplay. Tim Bevan & Eric Fellner (Atonement, Les Miserables, Frost/Nixon) are producing the Working Title and Studiocanal production with Tracey Seaward (Philomena) and Kate Solomon (United 93). ‘Heaven is for Real’ Score Album Details

Madison Gate Records has released a soundtrack album for the drama Heaven is for Real. The album features the film’s original music composed, arranged and conducted by Nick Glennie-Smith who previously collaborated with the movie’s director Randall Wallace on his previous three movies including The Man in the Iron Mask, We Were Soldiers and Secretariat. The composer and directed have also composed the original song You Are Home, which is featured on the album in three different versions. The soundtrack is being released digitally today on iTunes, where you can also check out audio clips. As previously reported, a separate soundtrack featuring songs inspired by the film is already available. Heaven is for Real starring Greg Kinnear, Kelly Reilly, Connor Corum, Margo Martindale and Thomas Haden Church follows a real-life couple whose son claims to have visited Heaven during a near death experience. Atlantic Records will release the official soundtrack for the drama The Fault in Our Stars. The album features the songs from the film by artists including the original end credits song All of the Stars by Ed Sheeran, Let Me In by Grouplove and Not About Angels by Birdy. Also included are tracks by artists such as M83, Kodaline, Jake Bugg, Charli XCX, Tom Odell and more. Season Kent serves as the soundtrack producer and the film’s music supervisor. The soundtrack will be released on May 19, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Fault in Our Stars is directed by Josh Boone and stars Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort, Laura Dern, Sam Trammell, Nat Wolff and Willem Dafoe. Mike Mogis and Nathaniel Walcott have recently recorded the film’s original score. The drama based on the bestselling novel by John Green will be released on June 6, 2014 by 20th Century Fox. Metropolis Movie Music will release a soundtrack album for the romantic comedy The Love Punch. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jean-Michel Bernard (Be Kind Rewind, The Science of Sleep). The soundtrack will be released on April 15, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Love Punch is written and directed by Joel Hopkins (Last Chance Harvey) and stars Emma Thompson, Pierce Brosnan, Timothy Spall, Celia Imrie, Louise Bourgoin and Laurent Lafitteas. The movie follows a divorced couple who have to reunite when their pension is stolen by an unscrupulous businessman. The comedy will be released in the UK on April 18. Asche & Spencer have composed the music for the upcoming indie drama Fort Bliss. The film is written and directed by Claudia Myers (Kettle of Fish) and stars Michelle Monaghan, Ron Livingston, Emmanuelle Chriqui and Freddy Rodriguez. The movie follows a decorated U.S. Army medic and single mother who returns home from an extended tour in Afghanistan to face a troubled relationship with her 5-year-old son. Three new movies are opening wide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the animated sequel Rio 2 directed by Carlinhos Brown and featuring the voices of Anne Hathaway, Jesse Eisenberg, will.i.am, Jemaine Clement, Rodrigo Santoro, Tracy Morgan, George Lopez, Leslie Mann, Jamie Foxx, Rita Moreno, Bruno Mars and Kristin Chenoweth. The film’s original’s music is composed by John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon) and Sergio Mendes serves as the film’s executive music producer.
