Cut Narrative Records will release a soundtrack album for the indie sci-fi drama Young Ones. The album features the film’s original music composed by Nathan Johnson (Looper, Brick, Don Jon, The Brothers Bloom). The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 7, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. Young Ones is written and directed by Jake Paltrow and stars Michael Shannon, Elle Fanning, Nicholas Hoult, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Aimee Mullins and Alex McGregor. The movie follows two neighboring ranchers who betray each other in a future where water has become the most precious resource. The details of the soundtrack album for David Fincher’s thriller Gone Girl have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross who previously collaborated with the director on The Social Network and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. The soundtrack will be released on September 30, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out a preview track from the score on Nine Inch Nail’s official website. Gone Girl is based on the bestseller of the same title by Gillian Flynn and stars Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, Kim Dickens, Patrick Fugit, Carrie Coon and David Clennon. BBC’s ‘The Driver’ to Feature Music by Lorne Balfe

Lorne Balfe has composed the music for the new BBC mini-series The Driver. The drama is created by Danny Brocklehurst and Jim Poyser and stars David Morrissey, Claudie Blakeley, Sacha Parkinson, Ian Hart, Colm Meaney, Shaun Dingwall and Lee Ross. The three-parter follows a taxi driver who blames himself for a family mystery and accepts an offer to start driving for a criminal gang. Jamie Payne (Doctor Who, The White Queen) has directed the mini-series, which is executive produced by Morrissey for Highfield Pictures, Nicola Shindler (Last Tango for Halifax, Happy Valley) for Red Productions and Polly Hill (The Honorable Woman, The White Queen) for BBC One. Brian Kirk to Score ‘NCIS: New Orleans’

Brian Kirk is composing the music for the new CBS drama NCIS: New Orleans. The show is created by Gary Glasberg (NCIS) and stars Scott Bakula, Lucas Black, Zoe McLellan, CCH Pounder and Rob Kerkovich. The drama follows the local field office that investigates criminal cases involving military personnel in The Big Easy, a city known for its music, entertainment and decadence. Glasberg is also executive producing the CBS Television Studios production with Mark Harmon, Jeffrey Lieber (Tuck Everlasting, co-creator of Lost) and James Hayman (Ugly Betty, Joan of Arcadia). Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the film adaptation of the YA novel The Maze Runner directed by Wes Ball and starring Dylan O’Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Will Poulter, Aml Ameen and Thomas Brodie-Sangster. The film’s original music is composed by John Paesano (Dragons: Riders of Berk, When the Game Stands Tall, Crisis). Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music. Also opening wide is the is the thriller A Walk Among the Tombstones directed by Scott Frank and starring Liam Neeson, Dan Stevens, David Harbour and Boyd Holbrook. Joe Kraemer to Score ‘Mission: Impossible 5’

Director Christopher McQuarrie announced on Twitter that Joe Kraemer is set to score the upcoming action thriller sequel Mission: Impossible 5. The film stars Tom Cruise who returns as IMF Agent Ethan Hunt. Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames are also reprising their roles from the previous installment in the series. They are joined by Alec Baldwin and Rebecca Ferguson. Will Staples and Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3) have written the screenplay. Cruise is also producing the project with J.J. Abrams. Kraemer has previously scored McQuarrie’s previous two directorial efforts, The Way of the Gun and 2011’s Jack Reacher, which also starred Tom Cruise. The previous Mission: Impossible films featured music by Danny Elfman, Hans Zimmer and most recently, Michael Giacchino who scored the third and fourth parts in the series. Addicted is directed by Bille Woodruff (Honey) and stars Sharon Leal, Boris Kodjoe, Tasha Smith, Tyson Beckford, Emayatzy Corinealdi, Kat Graham and William Levy. The movie based on the best-selling novel by Zane and follows a successful business woman with three kids who finds herself satisfying her addiction to sex by sleeping with other men.
