John Powell and David Buckley have been hired to score the upcoming action thriller Jason Bourne. The film is directed by Paul Greengrass (Captain Phillips) who previously helmed The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum and stars Matt Damon, Julia Stiles, Alicia Vikander, Vincent Cassel and Tommy Lee Jones. The movie takes place seven years after The Bourne Ultimatum and follows the title character as he unexpectedly resurfaces at a time when the world is faced with unprecedented instability. Greengrass and editor Christopher Rouse have written the screenplay based on the characters created by Robert Ludlum. Frank Marshall (Jurassic World, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Sixth Sense) is producing the project with Jeffrey Weiner, Greengrass, Damon, Gregory Goodman (X-Men: First Class) and Ben Smith.

Netflix’s ‘Marseille’ to Feature Music by Alexandre Desplat
Alexandre Desplat has composed the music for the upcoming Netflix original series Marseille. The show is created by Dan Franck and stars Gérard Depardieu, Benoît Magimel, Géraldine Pailhas, Nadia Farès, Gérard Meylan, Nassim Si Ahmed, Antoine Coesens, Nozha Khouadra and Maruschka Detmers. The 8-parter centers around the city election between the long-time mayor Robert Taro and a younger ambitious candidate. Franck is also executive producing the political drama with Florent-Emilio Siri (My Way) who also directed the first four episodes.
‘We Have to Go Back: Lost’ Concert Announced
It was announced today that Academy Award-winning composer Michael Giacchino (Up, Star Trek, The Incredibles, Jurassic World, Inside Out, Ratatouille) will conduct the Hollywood Studio Symphony Orchestra, comprised of 44 musicians, in an evening of music and story from the ABC hit TV series, Lost. The event will take place on Friday, September 23, 2016 at Ford Theatres in Los Angeles. The show’s executive producers, Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse will host the concert in celebration of the 12th Anniversary of the show’s premiere. ‘The Ignorance of Blood’ Soundtrack Announced
Great Temptations will release a soundtrack album for the Spanish thriller The Ignorance of Blood. The album features the film’s original music composed by Federico Jusid (The Secret in Their Eyes, Misconduct, Everybody Has a Plan). The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 22 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. The Ignorance of Blood is directed by Manuel Gómez Pereira and stars Paz Vega, Juan Diego Botto, Ken Appledorn, Dacio Caballero, Alberto San Juan, Ben Temple and Pilar Mayo. The movie is based on the bestselling book series and follows the chief of the Homicide Division in Sevilla who must solve two different cases involving terrorism and the Russian mafia in a short period of time.
Michael Andrews Scoring ‘Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising’
Michael Andrews is composing the score for the upcoming comedy sequel Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising. The film is directed by Nicholas Stoller (Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Get Him to the Greek) and stars Seth Rogen, Zac Efron, Rose Byrne, Chloë Grace Moretz, Dave Franco, Ike Barinholtz, Carla Gallo, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Kiersey Clemons and Beanie Feldstein. The movie follows Mac and Kelly who have a second baby on the way and learn that the new occupants next door are a sorority even more out of control than the frat boys they dealt with in the original movie. Rogen and Stoller have written the screenplay with Evan Goldberg and Andrew Jay Cohen. Rogen & Goldberg (This Is the End, The Interview) are also producing the project with James Weaver (The Night Before).
‘400 Days’ Soundtrack Details
Lakeshore Records has announced a soundtrack album for the sci-fi drama 400 Days. The album features the film’s original music composed by Wojciech Golczewski (Dark Souls, We Are Still Here). The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 6, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. 400 Days is directed by Matt Osterman and stars Brandon Routh, Caity Lotz, Tom Cavanagh, Dane Cook, Ben Feldman and Grant Bowler. The movie follows four astronauts who are sent on a simulated mission to a distant planet to test the psychological effects of deep space travel and whose mental state begins to deteriorate when they lose all communication with the outside world. The drama opened in select theaters and on VOD this past January by XLrator Media and is now available on DVD.
Ludwig Goransson & Nathan Matthew David Scoring TBS’ ‘Angie Tribeca’ Season 2
Ludwig Goransson and Nathan Matthew David are the new composers of the TBS original series Angie Tribeca. The composers are scoring the second season of the show created by Steve & Nancy Carell and starring Rashida Jones, Hayes MacArthur, Jere Burns, Deon Cole and Andree Vermeulen. The comedy follows a 10-year veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department’s elite RHCU (Really Heinous Crimes Unit) and a squad of committed LAPD detectives investigators as they solve various crimes. Steve and Nancy Carell are also executive producing the project with Thom Hinkle and Campbell Smith.
‘The Trust’ Soundtrack Announced
Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the crime dramedy The Trust. The album features the film’s original music composed by Reza Safinia (Filly Brown, Mercy). The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 6, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. The Trust is directed by Ben & Alex Brewer and stars Nicolas Cage, Elijah Wood, Jerry Lewis and Sky Ferreira. The movie follows two corrupt cops of the Las Vegas Police Department who discover a high bail receipt in connection to a drug bust and set in motion a plan to find the source of the money. The crime thriller is now airing on DirecTV and will be released in select theaters and on VOD on May 13 by Saban Films.
Nick Urata to Score Netflix’s ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events’
Nick Urata is set to compose the music for the upcoming Netflix original series A Series of Unfortunate Events. The show is based on the book series by Lemony Snicket and stars Neil Patrick Harris, Malina Weissman, Louis Hynes, Aasif Mandvi, K. Todd Freeman and Patrick Warbutton as Snicket himself. The 8-parter tells the tale of three orphaned children at the hands of the villainous Count Olaf, as they face trials and tribulations, misfortunes and an evil uncle in search of their fortune, all in their quest to uncover the secret of their parents’ deaths. Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black, Get Shorty, The Addams Family) is executive producing the Paramount Television production with Mark Hudis (True Blood) and Daniel Handler.
Marvin Hamlisch’s ‘Ordinary People’ and ‘Save the Tiger’ Scores to Be Released
La-La Land Records has released the world premiere release of the score for the Academy Award-winning 1980 drama Ordinary People directed by Robert Redford and starring Donald Sutherland, Mary Tyler Moore and Timothy Hutton. The album features the film’s original music written and conducted by Oscar-winning composer Marvin Hamlisch (The Sting, The Way We Were, The Spy Who Loved Me, The Informant!). The soundtrack also features the world premiere release of the composer’s score for the 1973 drama Save the Tiger directed by John G. Avildsen and starring Jack Lemmon. The release, which is limited to 1500 copies, will be available to order tomorrow, April 19 on the label’s official website.
