Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the action sequel Mechanic: Resurrection. The album features the film’s original music composed by Mark Isham (Crash, Once Upon a Time, A River Runs Through It, Blade, Miracle) who previously scored 2011’s first film in the series. The soundtrack is now available to download on iTunes, where you can also listen to audio samples. Mechanic: Resurrection is directed by Dennis Gansel and stars Jason Statham, Jessica Alba, Tommy Lee Jones and Michelle Yeoh. The movie follows Arthur Bishop who is once again in danger as he has to complete an impossible list of assassinations of the most dangerous men in the world.

‘Hands of Stone’ Soundtrack Details
Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for the boxing drama Hands of Stone. The album features the film’s original score composed by Angelo Milli (Seven Pounds). Also included is the original song Champions performed by Usher & Rubén Blades who also co-wrote the song with Raphael Saadiq and Taura Stinson, as well as more songs by Blades. The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 2, 2016. Hands of Stone is written and directed by Jonathan Jakubowicz and stars Robert De Niro, Edgar Ramirez, Usher Raymond IV, Ana de Armas, Ellen Barkin and John Turturro. The movie follows the life of Roberto Durán, the Panamanian fighter who made his professional debut in 1968 as a 16-year‐old and retired in 2002 at the age of 50.
‘Southside With You’ Soundtrack Announced
Columbia Records will release a soundtrack album for the drama Southside with You. The album features the original song Start by John Legend (who serves as an executive producer on the movie), as well as tracks by Janet Jackson, The Delfonics, Soul II Soul, Slick Rick, Bill Withers, Al B. Sure!, Martha Reeves & The Vandellas and Teddy Pendergrass. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 26. Southside with You is written and directed by Richard Tanne and stars Tika Sumpter, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Parker Sawyers and Jerod Haynes. The movie recounts the eventful summer day in 1989 when a young law firm associate named Barack Obama tried to woo lawyer Michelle Robinson during a daylong date.
‘Blair Witch’ to Feature Music by Adam Wingard
Director Adam Wingard has composed the original score for his latest movie, Blair Witch. The film is written by Simon Barrett (The Guest, You’re Next) and stars James Allen McCune, Callie Hernandez, Brandon Scott, Valorie Curry, Corbin Reid and Wes Robinson. The horror thriller follows a group of college students who venture into the Black Hills Forest in Maryland to uncover the mysteries surrounding the disappearance of James sister who many believe is connected to the legend of the Blair Witch.
‘American Pastoral’ Soundtrack Details
Lakeshore Records will release the official soundtrack album for Ewan McGregor’s directorial debut American Pastoral. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Alexandre Desplat (The Grand Budapest Hotel, The King’s Speech, Godzilla, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, The Imitation Game). Also included is a cover version of Moon River performed by Priscilla Ahn. The soundtrack will be released physically on October 21, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. American Pastoral starring Mc Gregor, Jennifer Connelly, Dakota Fanning, Uzo Aduba and David Strathairn is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning Philip Roth novel and follows a family whose seemingly idyllic existence is shattered by the social and political turmoil of the 1960s.
Max Richter to Score John Madden’s ‘Miss Sloane’
Max Richter has been hired to score the upcoming dramatic thriller Miss Sloane. The film is directed by John Madden (Shakespeare in Love, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, The Debt) and stars Jessica Chastain, Mark Strong, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michael Stuhlbarg, Alison Pill, Jake Lacy, Sam Waterston and John Lithgow. The movie follows a ruthless lobbyist notorious for her unparalleled talent who faces off against the powerful gun lobby in an attempt to pass gun control legislation. Jonathan Perera has written the screenplay.
‘Poldark’ Deluxe Edition Soundtrack Announced
Sony Classical will release a deluxe edition soundtrack for the BBC original series Poldark. The album features the show’s original music composed by Anne Dudley (The Full Monty, Black Book, Elle, American History X), including the content of the first soundtrack album for the drama, which was released last year, as well as a new performance of the Poldark theme performed by pianist Lang Lang. Also included are two newly recorded folk songs performed by actress Eleanor Tomlinson that feature in key moments during the series, and a 5-minute suite of the most popular themes from the series. The soundtrack will be released on September 16, 2016.
Johann Johannsson to Score Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Blade Runner’ Sequel
Johann Johannsson confirmed in a recent interview on the Icelandic radio station RUV that he will be reteaming with Denis Villeneuve on the upcoming Blade Runner sequel. The film stars Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Dave Bautista, Ana de Armas, David Dastmalchian, Hiam Abbass, Jared Leto and Robin Wright. Hampton Fancher and Michael Green (Green Lantern) have written the screenplay. Ridley Scott (Alien, Gladiator) who directed the 1982 original film (scored by Vangelis) is producing the project with Broderick Johnson, Andrew A. Kosove (The Blind Side, Insomnia, The Book of Eli).

Benjamin Wallfisch has been tapped to score the upcoming horror thriller Rings. The film is directed by F. Javier Gutierrez (Before the Fall) and stars Matilda Lutz, Alex Roe, Johnny Galecki, Aimee Teegarden, Bonnie Morgan and Vincent D’Onofrio. The movie is the third part in the Ring franchise and follows a young woman who becomes worried about her boyfriend when he explores a dark subculture surrounding a mysterious videotape said to kill the watcher seven days after he has viewed it. David Loucka (Dream House), Jacob Estes (Mean Creek) and Akiva Goldsman (A Beautiful Mind, I Am Legend, I, Robot) have written the screenplay.
