MovieScore Media has announced a soundtrack album for the thriller The Numbers Station. The album features the film’s original music composed by Paul Leonard-Morgan (Limitless, Walking with Dinosaurs, Dredd). The soundtrack will be released digitally on February 17, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. Two new movies are opening wide this weekend:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the film adaptation of E.L. James’ bestselling novel Fifty Shades of Grey directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson and starring Jamie Dornan, Dakota Johnson, Jennifer Ehle, Marcia Gay Harden, Luke Grimes, Max Martini, Dylan Neal, Eloise Mumford, Rita Ora and Victor Rasuk. Republic Records has released a soundtrack album featuring songs from and inspired by the film by such artists as Annie Lennox, Beyoncé, The Weeknd, Ellie Goulding, AWOLNATION, Sia & more. Also opening wide is the spy action comedy Kingsman: The Secret Service directed by Matthew Vaughn and starring Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Caine, Taron Egerton, Mark Strong and Jack Davenport. The film’s original music is composed by Henry Jackman (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Big Hero 6, X-Men: First Class, Wreck-It-Ralph) and Matthew Margeson (Kick-Ass 2, Skyline). Antonio Sanchez Performs ‘Birdman’ Score Live to Picture

Last night, Antonio Sanchez performed his original score for Alejandro González Iñárritu’s comedy drama Birdman live to picture at ACE Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. The jazz drummer who made his film scoring debut on the project was presented to the stage by actor Michael Keaton, who is up for an Oscar for his lead performance in the film. Sanchez’s score is available on Milan Records and the movie, which is nominated for 9 Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor/Actress, Best Cinematography and Best Original Screenplay, is now playing in theaters. Walt Disney Records will release a soundtrack album for Disney’s family fantasy movie Cinderella. The album features the film’s original music written by Academy Award-nominated composer Patrick Doyle (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Thor, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Sense and Sensibility). Also included is the original end titles song Strong written by Doyle, Kenneth Branagh & Tommy Danvers and performed by Sonna Rele, as well as two new versions of songs from Disney’s animated classic performed by Lily James and Helena Bonham Carter. Marcelo Zarvos is reuniting with director Ross Katz on the upcoming romantic drama The Choice. The film based on the novel of the same title by Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook, Dear John, Message in a Bottle) stars Benjamin Walker, Teresa Palmer, Tom Welling, Alexandra Daddario, Maggie Grace and Tom Wilkinson. The movie is set in a small coastal town where a young man ends up pursuing a relationship with his new neighbor, leading to a journey that neither could have foreseen. Bryan Sipe (Demolition) has written the screenplay. Sparks is also producing the project with Theresa Park (The Best of Me, The Longest Ride) and Peter Safran (The Conjuring, Annabelle, Buried). Steve Jablonsky has been hired to score the upcoming fantasy adventure The Last Witch Hunter. The film is directed by Breck Eisner (Sahara, The Crazies) and stars Vin Diesel, Rose Leslie, Elijah Wood, Julia Engelbrecht and Michael Caine. The movie follows the last remaining witch hunter who partners with his natural enemy, a female witch, to stop the covens of New York City from unleashing a plague on humanity. Burk Sharpless & Matt Sazama (Dracula Untold, Gods of Egypt) have written the screenplay based on a pitch by Cory Goodman (Priest). Diesel is also producing the Summit Entertainment production with Mark Canton (300, The Spiderwick Chronicles, Piranha 3D) and Bernie Goldmann (300: Rise of an Empire, Mirror Mirror, Fool’s Gold).
