A soundtrack album will be released for the romantic comedy We’ll Never Have Paris. The album features the film’s original music composed by Alexis & Sam (Lila & Eve). Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the comedy sequel Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 directed by Andy Fickman and starring Kevin James, Raini Rodriguez, Neal McDonough and Shirley Knight. The film’s original music is composed by Rupert Gregson-Williams (Over the Hedge, Bee Movie, Click, Blended, Veep). No soundtrack album has been announced. Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2 follows the security guard as he travels to Las Vegas to attend a Security Guard Expo with his teenage daughter and inadvertently discovers a heist. Also opening wide is Disneynature’s documentary Monkey Kingdom directed by Mark Linfield and Alastair Fothergill. Walt Disney Records has released the original song It’s Our World performed by Jacquie Lee from the film earlier this week. Click here to download the track. Harry Gregson-Williams (Shrek series, The Chronicles of Narnia, Kingdom of Heaven, Man on Fire, The Equalizer) has composed the film’s original score. George Fenton revealed in an interview with Celluloid Tunes that he has recently recorded his score for the upcoming British drama The Lady in the Van. The film is directed by Nicholas Hytner and stars Maggie Smith, Alex Jennings, Jim Broadbent, Frances De La Tour and Roger Allam. The movie is based on Alan Bennett’s West End stage play and follows an eccentric woman of uncertain origins who “temporarily” parked her broken down van in Bennett’s London driveway
and proceeded to live there for the next fifteen years. Hytner is also producing the BBC Films and TriStar production with Damian Jones (The Iron Lady, Millions, Belle) and Kevin Loader (Venus, Nowhere Boy, In the Loop). Read the rest of this entry »
Cameron Crowe’s ‘Aloha’ to Feature New Compositions by Jónsi & Alex

Jónsi & Alex have written two new compositions for Cameron Crowe’s upcoming romantic comedy Aloha. The film’s soundtrack album will also feature songs by Beck, David Crosby, Fleetwood Mac, The Blue Nile, Kurt Vile, Josh Ritter, The Tallest Man on Earth, Radical Face, Evening Hymns and Vancouver Sleep Clinic. World Soundtrack Awards 2015 Young Composers Contest Announced

As in previous years, the World Soundtrack Academy will give out the SABAM Award for Best Young International Composer to young international film music talent during this year’s World Soundtrack Awards (WSA) during the 42nd Film Fest Gent in Belgium. Three finalists will be invited for a three-day visit in Ghent where they will have their compositions performed by the Brussels Philharmonic and conducted by Dirk Brossé during the 15th World Soundtrack Awards, which takes place on October 25, 2015 and will also honor composers Alan Silvestri and Daniel Pemberton. Henry Jackman is set to score the upcoming action adventure The 5th Wave. The film is directed by J Blakeson (The Disappearance of Alice Creed) and stars Chloë Grace Moretz, Nick Robinson, Ron Livingston, Maggie Siff, Alex Roe, Maika Monroe, Zackary Arthur and Live Schreiber. The movie based on the young adult novel by Rick Yancey is set in the present day after four waves of increasingly deadly attacks have left most of Earth decimated and follows a 16-year-old girl who is on the run and desperately trying to save her younger brother. Universal Buys Untitled Musical Comedy to Feature Music by Alan Menken & Stephen Schwartz

Deadline is reporting that Universal Pictures has acquired an untitled comedy musical to be directed by Jeremy Garelick (The Wedding Ringer), starring Josh Gad and featuring music by Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz. The movie is said to follow a “domestic who integrates into family with a busy single mother, and becomes an important part of the clan”. Garelick is also writing the screenplay based on a story by himself and Gad. Michael De Luca (The Social Network, Captain Phillips, Moneyball, Fifty Shades of Grey) will serve as the producer on the project alongside Garelick, Gad, Menken & Schwartz.
