Shady Records and Interscope Records have announced the details of the soundtrack album for Antoine Fuqua’s boxing drama Southpaw. The album features the songs from and inspired by the film by artists including Eminem, 50 Cent, The Weeknd, The Notorious B.I.G., Slaughterhouse, Denaun, Bad Meets Evil & more. Also included are two tracks from the film’s original score composed by James Horner (Titanic, Avatar). A separate soundtrack album featuring Horner’s full score will be released on Sony Classical. The Music from and Inspired by the Motion Picture soundtrack will be released on July 24, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Southpaw starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Rachel McAdams, Forest Whitaker, Beau Knapp, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, Naomie Harris, Oona Laurence, Rita Ora & Victor Ortiz will be released on July 24 by the Weinstein Company. The line-up for the annual The Character of Music panel at Comic-Con in San Diego has been announced. This year’s Classic Horror Special Edition will feature a number of composers discussing the power of music in horror films with a Q&A to follow. Panelists include composers Charles Bernstein (Nightmare on Elm Street), Harry Manfredini (Friday the 13th), Laura Karpman (Carrie), Richard Band (Re-Animator), Tyler Bates (Dawn of the Dead), Maurizio Guarini of Goblin (Suspiria), as well as special guest actor Douglas Tait (Freddy vs. Jason). The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has invited 322 artists and executives who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to theatrical motion pictures to join the organization. Among the invited artists this year a number of film composers, including Johann Johannsson (Prisoners, Sicario) who received his first Academy Award nomination earlier this year for his music for The Theory of Everything, Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross who received the Oscar in 2011 for their work on David Fincher’s The Social Network and recently reunited with the director on Gone Girl, Tyler Bates whose film scoring credits include last year’s hit film Guardians of the Galaxy, Jonny Greenwood whose film music work include Paul Thomas Anderson’s There Will Be Blood, The Master and Inherent Vice and Christopher Lennertz whose recent feature credits include Ride Along, Horrible Bosses 2 and The Wedding Ringer. Alexandre Azaria to Return for ‘The Transporter Refueled’

Alexandre Azaria has composed the music for the upcoming action thriller The Transporter Refueled. The film is a reboot of the Transporter series starring Jason Statham and stars Ed Skrein as Frank Martin, the most highly-skilled transporter money can buy. The movie is directed by Camille Delamarre (Brick Mansions) and co-stars Ray Stevenson, Loan Shabanon, Gabriella Wright, Radivoje Bukvić, Anatole Taubman, Wenxia Yu and Tatiana Pajković. Bill Collage & Adam Cooper (Exodus: Gods and Kings, Accepted) wrote the screenplay with Luc Besson (The Professional, Lucy, The Fifth Element) who is also producing the project with Mark Gao. The line-up of the 3rd Annual Musical Anatomy of a Superhero panel has been announced. Six leading Hollywood film and TV composers will offer a behind the scenes look at the music of today’s biggest superhero film and TV projects with unreleased film clips and never heard before music and discuss collaborating with the directors and the challenges involved in telling a story with music. Participating composers include Junkie XL aka Tom Holkenborg who recently scored the action hit Mad Max: Fury Road and has Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice coming up, Brian Tyler whose superhero film credits include Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor: The Dark World and Iron Man 3, as well as Marco Beltrami who recently composed the music for the new Fantastic Four film adaptation and previously scored The Wolverine and Hellboy. John Paesano to Score Fox’s ‘The Frankenstein Code’

John Paesano has been hired to score the upcoming Fox drama The Frankenstein Code. The show is inspired by the classic Mary Shelley mythology and stars Rob Kazinsky, Dilshad Vadsaria, Adhir Kalyan, Tim DeKay and Ciara Bravo The series follows a morally corrupt cop who is given a second chance when he’s brought back from the dead and now has to choose between his old temptations and his new sense of purpose. Rand Ravich (The Astronaut’s Wife, Life) has written the pilot and is executive producing the 20th Century Fox Television production with Howard Gordon (Homeland, 24, Tyrant) and Michael Cuesta (Elementary, Kill the Messenger) who also directed the pilot episode. ‘Terminator Genisys’ Soundtrack Announced

Skydance Productions and Paramount Pictures will release the official soundtrack album for Terminator Genisys. The album features the film’s original music composed by Lorne Balfe (Home, Penguins of Madagascar, The Dilemma, Megamind). Hans Zimmer serves as the executive music producer.
