Singer/songwriter Patrick Watson has composed the music for the upcoming supernatural thriller The 9th Life of Louis Drax. The film is directed by Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes, Piranha 3D, High Tension) and stars Jamie Dornan, Aaron Paul, Sarah Gadon, Oliver Platt, Molly Parker, Barbara Hershey and Aiden Longworth. The movie follows a psychologist who begins working with a young boy who has suffered a near-fatal fall and finds himself drawn into a mystery that tests the boundaries of fantasy and reality. David Schwartz to Score Netflix’s ‘Lady Dynamite’

David Schwartz is set to reunite with Mitchell Hurwitz on the upcoming Netflix original series Lady Dynamite. The show is created by Hurwitz & comedian Maria Bamford and stars herself, as well as Dean Cain and Ana Gasteyer. Sarah Silverman, Jenny Slate, Mira Sorvino, Patton Oswalt, Jon Cryer, Brandon Routh, June Diane Raphael, Adam Pally and Tig Notaro have been announced as guest stars. The comedy is inspired by multiple periods of Bamford’s life and tell the story of a woman who loses – and then finds – herself. The film marks the feature directorial debut of Ridley Scott’s son Luke and stars Kate Mara, Anya Taylor-Joy, Paul Giamatti, Toby Jones and Boyd Holbrook. The movie follows a corporate risk-management consultant who is summoned to a remote research lab to determine whether or not to terminate a genetically-engineered being. Seth W. Bad Haircut has released a soundtrack album for the holiday comedy Christmas Eve. The album features the film’s original music composed by Christian Davis (Just Let Go, Murder in Mexico). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Christmas Eve is written and directed by Mitch Davis and stars Patrick Stewart, Jon Heder, James Roday, Cheryl Hines, Max Casella, Julianna Guill, Shawn King and Gary Cole. The movie follows six characters as they become trapped in six different elevators on Christmas Eve. The family comedy will be released in select theaters and on VOD on December 4, 2015. David Shephard has composed the score for the first season of the new AMC original series Into the Badlands. The show is created by Alfred Gough & Miles Millar (Smallville, Shanghai Knights) and stars Daniel Wu, Marton Csokas, Aramis Knight, Emily Beecham, Sarah Bolger and Orla Brady. The drama is loosely based on the classic Chinese tale Journey to the West and tells the story of a ruthless, well-trained warrior and a young boy who embark on a journey across a dangerous land to find enlightenment. Agent X takes place in a world where America’s Founding Fathers created a secret position for a skilled government agent to protect the country from dangerous threats. Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the James Bond movie Spectre directed by Sam Mendes and starring Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Naomie Harris, Rory Kinnear, Christoph Waltz, Léa Seydoux, Monica Bellucci, David Bautista and Andrew Scott. Thomas Newman (American Beauty, Skyfall, The Shawshank Redemption, Finding Nemo) has composed the film’s original music. Decca Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as an instrumental version of the movie’s title song, Writing’s on the Wall by Sam Smith. Also opening wide is the animated feature The Peanuts Movie directed by Steve Martino and based on the comic strip by Charles M. Schulz. The film’s original music is composed by Christophe Beck (Frozen, Ant-Man, The Hangover, Edge of Tomorrow). Epic Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as an original song performed by Meghan Trainor, a track by Flo Rida feat.
