Republic Records will release a soundtrack album for the holiday comedy Love the Coopers. The album features the songs from the film, including Robert Plant’s and Alison Krauss’ The Light of Christmas Day, Otis Redding’s Merry Christmas Baby, Sixpence None the Richer’s Carol of the Bells, as well as seasonal classics from Bob Dylan, Nina Simone & more. Also included is a track from the movie’s original score composed by Nick Urata (Paddington, Crazy, Stupid, Love). The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 13, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Edward Shearmur to Score BBC’s ‘Reg’

Edward Shearmur has been hired to compose the music for the upcoming BBC original movie Reg. The film is directed by David Blair (Common, Best Laid Plans, The Street), written by Jimmy McGovern (Banished, Accused) and stars Tim Roth and Anna Maxwell Martin. The drama tells the true story of Reg Keys who lost his son in the Iraq War and then went on to contest British prime minister Tony Blair’s seat at Sedgefield in the 2005 General Election. Bear McCreary has signed on to score the upcoming horror thriller The Boy. The film is directed by William Brent Bell (The Devil Inside, Stay Alive) and stars Lauren Cohan and Rupert Evans. The movie follows a young American woman who takes a job as a nanny in a remote English village, only to discover that the family’s 8-year-old is a life-sized doll that the parents care for just like a real boy, as a way to cope with the death of their actual son 20 years prior. Stacey Menear has written the screenplay. Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1978 thriller sequel Jaws 2 directed by Jeannot Szwarc and starring Roy Scheider. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by John Williams (Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Jurassic Park, Schindler’s List, E.T.) who previously scored Steven Spielberg’s original 1975 film in the series. The 2-CD set features the composer’s complete score, as well as alternate cues on one disc and the content of the original 1978 soundtrack album on the second disc. Hans Zimmer European Live Tour Announced

Academy Award-winning composer Hans Zimmer has announced his first live tour. The concerts will feature a 20-piece studio band, alongside singer Lebo M (The Lion King, The Power of One), as well as an orchestra and choir. The tour will kick off in London on April 6, 2016 and will be taking in 18 cities, including Birmingham, Brussels, Hamburg, Berlin, Paris, Munich, Krakow, Bratislava, Prague, Zurich, Budapest, Vienna and Sofia in total for the following six weeks.
