Benjamin Wallfisch (It, Blade Runner 2049, The Flash, Shazam!, Hidden Figures, The Invisible Man) has been tapped to score the upcoming sci-fi horror thriller Alien: Romulus. The film is directed by Fede Alvarez (Don’t Breathe, Evil Dead) and stars Cailee Spaeny, David Jonsson, Archie Renaux, Isabela Merced, Aileen Wu and Spike Fearn. The movie follows a group of young space colonizers who come face to face with the most terrifying life form in the universe while scavenging the deep ends of a derelict space station.

‘Alien: Covenant’ Soundtrack Details
The details of the soundtrack album for Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jed Kurzel (Assassin’s Creed, The Babadook, Macbeth, The Snowtown Murders). The soundtrack will be released next month by Milan Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Alien: Covenant starring Michael Fassbender, Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Demián Bichir, Carmen Ejogo, Amy Seimetz, Jussie Smollett, Callie Hernandez, Nathaniel Dean, Alexander England and Benjamin Rigby follows the crew of the colony ship Covenant, bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, as they discover what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world.
Harry Gregson-Williams to Score ‘Alien: Covenant’ & Ben Affleck’s ‘Live by Night’
Harry Gregson-Williams confirmed in a recent video interview with Film.Music.Media that he is attached to score Ridley Scott’s upcoming Alien: Covenant. The film is set to star Michael Fassbender who will reprise his role from Prometheus, as well as Katherine Waterstone. The movie follows the crew of the colony ship Covenant that discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark world whose sole inhabitant is David, survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition. Gregson-Williams has previously scored Scott’s 2005 feature Kingdom of Heaven, as well as last year’s The Martian.
Remastered ‘Chinatown’ Soundtrack Announced
Varese Sarabande Records has announced the latest batch of titles in the Varese CD Club series. Most notably, the label will be relasing a remastered soundtrack edition for Roman Polanski’s classic 1974 thriller Chinatown starring Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway. The album features the Academy Award-nominated score composed by Jerry Goldsmith. The release is limited to 3000 copies and is available for pre-order on Varese’s website, where you can also check out a number of audio clips. The previous soundtrack CD has been out-of-print for more than a decade. The release coincides with the Blu-Ray debut of the film. Apart from the score nomination, Chinatown has also received 10 other Oscar nods, including in the Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor/Actress categories.
Marc Streitenfeld to Reunite with Ridley Scott on ‘Prometheus’
Ain’t It Cool News is reporting that Marc Streitenfeld will be scoring Ridley Scott’s upcoming sci-fi epic Prometheus. The composer’s involvement has been expected given his relationship with the director. Streitenfeld has scored Scott’s previous four movies American Gangster, A Good Year, Body of Lies and last year’s Robin Hood. Prometheus stars Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green, and Ben Foster. Very little information has been revealed about the film’s plot so far, but it has been reported that the story will involve a team of scientists whose spaceship gets marooned on a distant planet and that the storyline will be connected to Scott’s 1979 classic Alien.
