Jeff Beal has recently composed the music for the upcoming indie dramedy The Sweet Life. The film is directed by Rob Spera and stars Chris Messina, Abigail Spencer, Tyson Ritter and Maggie Siff. The movie follows a couple that meets in Chicago and makes a pact to drive to San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge to commit suicide. Jared Rappaport has written the screenplay. Filter’s Richard Patrick to Score ‘True Crimes’

Richard Patrick has been tapped to score the upcoming indie thriller True Crimes. The film is directed by Alexandros Avranas (Miss Violence) and stars Jim Carrey, Agata Kulesza, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Kati Outinen, Zbigniew Zamachowski and Marton Czokas. The movie is based on a New Yorker article by David Grann and centers on a Polish murder investigation turning to clues found in a novelist’s book that bear a bizarre resemblance to the case. Jeremy Brock (The Last King of Scotland, Mrs. Brown, The Eagle) has written the screenplay. The only movie opening nationwide this weekend is Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War directed by Anthony & Joe Russo and starring Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Anthony Mackie, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Rudd. The film’s original music is composed by Henry Jackman (Captain America: The Winter Soldier, X-Men: First Class, Wreck-It-Ralph, Big Hero 6). Already playing in limited release since this past Wednesday is the dramatic thriller A Bigger Splash directed by Luca Guadagino and starring Tilda Swinton, Ralph Fiennes, Matthias Schoenaerts and Dakota Johnson. The film doesn’t feature an original score. Decca Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the movie by The Rolling Stones, Captain Beefheart, Robert Mitchum, Chrisma, Nilsson, Popol Vuh & more. The composer duo of tomandandy has recently scored the upcoming thriller 47 Meters Down. The film is directed by Johannes Roberts (The Other Side of the Door, Storage 24) and stars Mandy Moore, Claire Holt and Matthew Modine. The movie follows two fun-loving sisters on vacation who decide to go cage-diving to view great white sharks and find themselves trapped at the sea bottom with less than an hour of oxygen left in their tanks. The full details of the soundtrack album for Disney’s fantasy adventure Alice Through the Looking Glass have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Danny Elfman (Spider-Man, Batman, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Men in Black) who previously Tim Burton’s 2010 original film Alice in Wonderland. Also included is the original song Just Like Fire performed by Pink (listen to the track after the jump). The soundtrack will be released on May 27, 2016 by Walt Disney Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Michael Giacchino announced on Twitter that he will be scoring Marvel’s Doctor Strange. The film is directed by Scott Derrickson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Sinister) and stars Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role, alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rachel McAdams, Michael Stuhlbarg, Mads Mikkelsen and Tilda Swinton. The movie based on the Marvel Comics character follows surgeon Stephen Strange who encounters the Ancient One after a career-ending car accident. Jon Spaihts (Prometheus, The Darkest Hour and C. The movie follows singer/rapper Conner4Real who faces a crisis of popularity after his sophomore album flops and his celebrity high life begins to collapse. Samberg, Schaffer & Taccone (collectively known as The Lonely Island) have also written the screenplay and are producing the project with Judd Apatow (The 40-Year Old Virgin, Trainwreck, Knocked Up) and Rodney Rothman (Get Him to the Greek). ‘Our Kind of Traitor’ Soundtrack Announced

Quartet Records will release a soundtrack album for the spy thriller Our Kind of Traitor. The album features the film’s original music composed by Marcelo Zarvos (The Affair, The Good Shepherd, Enough Said, Ray Donovan) who recorded his score with the London Metropolitan Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios. The soundtrack will be released on May 13, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Our Kind of Traitor is directed by Susanna White and stars Ewan McGregor, Naomie Harris, Stellan Skarsgård and Damian Lewis. The movie is based on the novel by John le Carre (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) and follows a couple who get embroiled with a Russian oligarch and high-profile money launderer while on holiday in Marrakech. John Williams is set to compose the music for the upcoming animated short Dear Basketball. Retired NBA star Kobe Bryant is narrating the film, which is being described as an animated ode to basketball.
