The details of the score album for the film adaptation of the stage musical The Color Purple have been revealed. The album features the film’s Academy Award-shortlisted original score composed by Kris Bowers (Bridgerton, King Richard, Green Book, Haunted Mansion, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Secret Invasion, When They See Us, Dear White People). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, December 25 by WaterTower Music and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Sky Music has released a soundtrack album for the holiday comedy The Heist Before Christmas. The album features the film’s original score composed by Samuel Bohn (The Hippopotamus, The Cleaner, Don’t Let Him In). Variety has confirmed that Thomas Newman (American Beauty, The Shawshank Redemption, Finding Nemo, Skyfall, 1917) has composed the theme for upcoming FX limited series Feud: Capote vs. The Swans. It has previously been revealed that the Academy Award-nominated composer’s daughter Julia Newman is scoring the show written by Jon Robin Baitz (Brothers & Sisters, Stonewall) based on the book Capote’s Women: A True Story of Love, Betrayal, and a Swan Song for an Era by Laurence Leamer and starring Tom Hollander (as Truman Capote), Naomi Watts, Diane Lane, Chloë Sevigny, Calista Flockhart, Demi Moore, Molly Ringwald, Treat Williams, Joe Mantello and Russell Tovey. The Society of Composers & Lyricists (SCL) has announced the nominees for the 45h Annual SCL Awards, which will take place on February 13, 2024 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. The final round of voting will commence on January 8.
