Jeff Rona to Score TNT’s ‘Claws’

clawsJeff Rona is composing the score for the upcoming TNT original series Claws. The show is created by Eliot Laurence (Welcome to Me) and stars Niecy Nash, Carrie Preston, Harold Perrineau, Jenn Lyon, Judy Reyes, Jack Kesy, Karrueche Tran, Kevin Rankin and Jason Antoon. The comedy drama chronicles the rise of five diverse and treacherous manicurists working at the Nail Artisan of Manatee County salon in South Florida. Rashida Jones & Will McCormack (Celeste & Jesse Forever) are executive producing the project for La Train Train, alongside showrunner Janine Sherman Barrois (Criminal Minds, ER). not-your-negroLakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the documentary I Am Not Your Negro. The album features the film’s original original music composed by Alexei Aigui (The Horde). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, Friday 17 and is now available for pre-order on AmazonI Am Not Your Negro is directed by Raoul Peck, narrated by Samuel L. Jackson and focuses on James Baldwin’s unfinished novel, Remember This House, which centers on the story of race in modern America. The movie premiered at last year’s Toronto Film Festival and was honored last month with an Academy Award nomination in the Best Documentary category. ludwig-goranssonLudwig Goransson has been tapped to score the upcoming thriller Death Wish. The film is directed by Eli Roth (Cabin FeverHostelThe Green Inferno) and stars Bruce Willis, Mike Epps, Vincent D’Onofrio, Dean Norris, Kimberly Elise, Elisabeth Shue and Camila Morrone. The movie is a remake of the 1974 feature starring Charles Bronson & and the 1972 novel of the same title by Brian Garfileld and follows a mild-mannered father who is transformed into a killing machine after his family is torn apart by a violent act. Roger Birnbaum (The Magnificent Seven, The Vow, While You Were Sleeping) is producing the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) production. Read the rest of this entry »

power-rangersVarese Sarabande will release the official soundtrack album for the action adventure Power Rangers directed by Dean Israelite and starring Dacre Montgomery, Naomi Scott, RJ Cyler, Becky G, Ludi Lin, Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth Banks. The album features the film’s original music composed by Brian Tyler (Fast & FuriousAvengers: Age of UltronIron Man 3, Now You See Me). The soundtrack will be released around the film’s opening day on March 24 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. win-it-allDan Romer is reteaming with writer/director Joe Swanberg (Drinking BuddiesHappy Christmas) on the upcoming indie comedy Win It All. The film starring Jake Johnson, Aislinn Derbez, Joe Lo Truglio and Keegan-Michael Key revolves around a small time gambler who agrees to watch a duffel bag for an acquaintance who is heading to prison and discovers cash in the bag. Swanberg and Johnson also co-wrote the screenplay and are producing the project with Alex Orr (Easy). louChristophe Beck has composed the music for Pixar Animation Studios’ upcoming animated short Lou. The film marks the directorial debut of Dave Mullins who worked as an animator on projects including Monsters Inc., Finding NemoThe Incredibles, Ratatouille, Up and Cars 2. The movie revolves around a lost-and-found box and the unseen monster within. Dana Murray is producing the short and Pete Docter (UpInside Out) &  John Lasseter (Toy Story) serve as executive producers. The project marks Beck’s first project for Pixar. Lee (The Best ManThe Best Man HolidayUndercover Brother) and stars Regina Hall, Jada Pinkett Smith, Tiffany Haddish, Larenz Tate, Kate Walsh, Mike Colter and Queen Latifah. The movie follows four lifelong friends as they travel to New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival. Kenya Barris & Tracy Oliver (Barbershop: The Next Cut) wrote the screenplay. The album features selections from the project’s original music composed by Gary Lionelli (Last Days in Vietnam, Luck). O.J.: Made in America is directed by Ezra Edelman and traces the personal journey of Orenthal James Simpson – from his fame as a football star, to his being accused of murdering his ex-wife, his subsequent acquittal and more.
