The film is directed by Jon Turteltaub (National Treasure, While You Were Sleeping, Cool Runnings) and stars Jason Statham, Li Bingbing, Jessica McNamee, Ruby Rose and Rainn Wilson. he movie is based on Steve Alten’s novel MEG: A Novel of Deep Terror and centers on an international underwater observation program, led by Chinese scientists, that is under attack by an unknown danger with its deep-sea submersible disabled and trapped at the bottom of the Mariana Trench. Soundtrack Album for Showtime’s ‘Dark Net’ Announced

Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the Showtime docu-series Dark Net. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Justin Melland (Extremis, The Kill Team). The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 8, 2017. The pre-order link will be added to this article soon. Dark Net is created by Mati Kochavi and explores the dangers of the internet’s unregulated underbelly known as the deep web. Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the animated feature Leap! directed by Éric Summer & Éric Warin and starring Elle Fanning, Nat Wolff, Maddie Ziegler, Mel Brooks, Kate McKinnon & Carly Rae Jepsen. The film’s original score is composed by Klaus Badelt (Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, The Time Machine, The Recruit). Also opening wide is the biographical drama Birth of the Dragon directed by George Nolfi and starring Phillip Ng, Yu Xia, Jin Xing, Qu JingJing, Ron Yuan and Billy Magnussen. H. Scott Salinas (Cartel Land, The Ivory Game) and Reza Safinia (Filly Brown, The Trust) have composed the film’s original music. The show is developed by Max Landis (Chronicle, American Ultra) and stars Samuel Barnett, Elijah Wood, Hannah Marks, Jade Eshete, Mpho Koaho, Fiona Dourif, Michael Eklund, Osric Chau and Dustin Milligan. The comedic thriller is based on Douglas Adams’ novel of the same title and follows the bizarre adventures of eccentric “holistic” detective Dirk Gently and his reluctant assistant Todd, as they wend their way through one big, seemingly insane mystery.
