Plaza Mayor Company will release a soundtrack EP for the Iranian/German drama Critical Zone (Mantagheye bohrani). The 5-track EP features the film’s original music composed by Milad Movahedi (Invasion, Botox). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, January 26 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Critical Zone is written and directed by Ali Ahmadzadeh and stars Amir Pousti, Shirin Abedinirad, Alireza Keymanesh, Maryam Sadeghiyan, Saghar Saharkhiz and Mina Hasanlou. Vap will release a soundtrack album for the Netflix original anime series The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse. The album features the show’s original score composed by Kohta Yamamoto (Attack on Titan: The Final Season, The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed by Light, Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Wednesday, January 24 and is now available for pre-order here. A CD version is also being released in Japan and is available to order as an import on Amazon. Nigerian composer Ré Olunuga (Girl, Up North, Coming from Insanity) has recently scored the upcoming Disney+ original event series Iwájú. The show marks the first collaboration between Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pan-African entertainment company Kugali and features the voices of Simisola Gbadamosi, Dayo Okeniyi, Siji Soetan, Femi Branch, and Weruche Opia. The 6-parter is set in a futuristic Lagos, Nigeria and tells the coming-of-age story of a young girl from the wealthy island and her best friend as they discover the secrets and dangers hidden in their different worlds. Laurie Johnson has passed away last Tuesday, January 16, at age 96. The British composer has written numerous scores for TV and film between the late 1950s and early 90s. His best television scoring credits include the 60s spy classic The Avengers and its 1976 sequel series The New Avengers, ITV’s The Professionals & Jason King, the ITV anthology series Thriller. His work for film include Stanley Kubrick’s Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, Brian Clemens’ 1974 horror movie Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter.
