Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the horror movie Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich. The album features the film’s original music composed by Fabio Frizzi (The Beyond, Zombi 2, City of the Living Dead). Also included is The Origins of Puppet Master Theme by Richard Band who scored the previous installments in the Puppet Master series. The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 17, 2018 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Tyler Bates has been tapped to score the upcoming USA original series The Purge. The show is created by James DeMonaco based on his hit movie franchise and stars Gabriel Chavarria, Lili Simmons, Lee Tergesen, Jessica Garza, Amanda Warren, Colin Woodell, Hannah Emily Anderson and William Baldwin. Mark Isham has recently recorded his score for the biographical drama Bolden. The film is co-written and directed by Dan Pritzker and stars Gary Carr, Erik LaRay Harvey, Ian McShane, Breon Pugh, Reno Wilson, Yaya DaCosta and Michael Rooker. The movie tells the story of Buddy Bolden, a New Orleans cornet player who was a key figure in the development of ragtime music.  Jon Cornick & Michele Tayler (Lymelife) are producing the project. Label Obscura has announced a soundtrack album for the horror thriller The Crescent. The album features the film’s original music composed by Seth A. Smith who also directed the movie. The soundtrack will be released digitally on September 7, 2018. A limited vinyl edition is also coming out on the same day. The Crescent is written and directed by Smith and stars Danika Vandersteen, Woodrow Graves, Terrance Murray, Brit Loder and Andrew Gillis. Patrick Williams has passed away today at age 79. The composer has scored numerous features, TV shows and television movies over a five decade-spanning career. Among his feature film credits are John Water’s 1990 comedy Cry-Baby, the 1992 drama The Cutting Edge, Robert Zemeckis’ Used Cars, Richard Donner’s 1982 film The Toy,  and Richard Lester’s Cuba. He received an Academy Award nomination for his music adaptation for Peter Yates’ 1979 movie Breaking Away.
