‘American Honey’ Soundtrack Announced

american-honeyUniversal Music has announced a soundtrack album for Andrea Arnold’s drama American Honey. The album features the songs from the film by artists including E-40, Rae Sremmurd, Lapsley, MadeinTYO, Sam Hunt, Mazzy Star, Lady Antebellum & more. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 30 and is now available for pre-order on AmazonAmerican Honey is written and directed by Arnold and stars Sasha Lane, Shia LaBeouf and Riley Keough. The movie follows an adolescent girl from a troubled home who runs away with a traveling sales crew who drive across the American Midwest selling subscriptions door to door and soon gets into the group’s lifestyle of hard-partying nights, law-bending days, and young love. star-wars-rebelsWalt Disney Records will release a second soundtrack album for the Lucasfilm Animation series Star Wars Rebels. The album features selections of the music from the show’s second season composed by Kevin Kiner (Star Wars: The Clone WarsCSI: MiamiHell on WheelsJane the VirginMaking a Murderer). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 30 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. The label has previously released a soundtrack featuring the composer’s music from the first season a few weeks ago. Star Wars Rebels executive produced by Simon Kinberg, Dave Filoni & Greg Weisman and featuring the voice talent of Freddie Prinze, Jr., Taylor Gray, Steve Blum, Tiya Sircar and Vanessa Marshall just returned for its third season last week on Disney XD.  Read the rest of this entry »

The album features the film’s original score composed by Academy Award nominee David Hirschfelder (ElizabethShineAustraliaThe Railway ManThe Water Diviner). Also included are the original songs from the movie written by Charlie Fink (best known for fronting the indie band Noah and the Whale) and performed by lead actor Luke Treadaway. The soundtrack will be released overseas on October 28, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on AmazonA Street Cat Named Bob is directed by Roger Spottiswoode (Tomorrow Never Dies) and stars Treadaway, Ruta Gedmintas, Joanne Froggatt and Anthony Head. boss-babyHans Zimmer has signed on to score DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming feature The Boss Baby. The film is directed by Tom McGrath and features the voices of Alec Baldwin, Steve Buscemi, Jimmy Kimmel and Lisa Kudrow. The movie is based on the book by Marla Frazee and follows a suit-wearing briefcase-carrying baby who pairs up with his seven-year old brother to stop the dastardly plot of the CEO of Puppy Co.  Michael McCullers (Austin Powers) has written the screenplay. arrivalThe details of the soundtrack album for Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi drama Arrival have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed and produced by Johann Johannsson (The Theory of Everything, Sicario, Prisoners) who worked with several singers and vocal ensembles and combined both classical and avant-garde elements in his compositions for the project. Among those appearing are the Theatre of Voices, conducted by Paul Hillier, and artists such as Robert Aiki Aubrey Lowe and Hildur Guonadottir. Also included is Max Richter’s piece On the Nature of Daylight, as featured at the beginning and end of the movie. chicago-justiceAtli Orvarsson has been tapped to score the upcoming NBC drama Chicago Justice. The latest spin-off in the network’s Chicago franchise is created by Dick Wolf (Law & Order) and stars Philip Winchester, Carl Weathers, Nazneen Contractor, Joelle Carter and Ryan-James Hatanaka. The show follows the State’s Attorney’s dedicated team of prosecutors and investigators who navigate heated city politics and controversy head-on while fearlessly pursuing justice. Wolf is also executive producing the Universal Television production with Peter Jankowski (Law & Order: SVU), Matt Olmstead (Prison Break), Derek Haas & Michael Brandt (3:10 to Yuma, Wanted) and Arthur ‎Forney. The film starring Ellen Page, Diego Luna, Nina Dobrev, Kiefer Sutherland, James Norton and Kiersey Clemons is based on the 1990 feature of the same title (scored by James Newton Howard) about a group of medical students who are exploring near death on the examination table until the consequences began to jeopardize their lives. The movie is based on the novel by Milena Agu and revolves around a woman in post-World War II Europe who’s torn between the man she’s meant to marry and a charming war veteran.
