Varese Sarabande has announced a soundtrack album for the drama Shine. The album features the songs from the movie performed by artists including Fania, Tito Puente, Eddie Palmieri, Willie Colin, Ray Barretto, Joe Bataan & others. Marco Beltrami (Logan, A Quiet Place, Scream, 3:10 to Yuma) and Marcus Trumpp (The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death, Little Evil) have recently composed the music for the upcoming French historical crime thriller The Emperor of Paris (L’Empereur de Paris). The film is directed by Jean-François Richet (Assault on Precint 13, Blood Father) and stars Vincent Cassel, Olga Kurylenko, August Dhiel, Freya Mavor, Denis Menochet and James Thierée. The movie tells the story of Francois Vidocq, a real-life ex-convict who became a police detective during Napoleon’s reign. Eric Besnard (Babylon A.D.) wrote the screenplay. Also included is the original song Requiem for a Private War written and performed by Annie Lennox and co-produced by Salinas. Nate Heller to Score Marielle Heller’s Untitled Mr. Rogers Biopic

Composer Nate Heller is reuniting with Marielle Heller on the director’s upcoming, currently untitled next movie, which tells the story of the real-life friendship that blossomed between Fred Rogers and cynical journalist Tom Junod. Tom Hanks is portraying Rogers and Matthew Rhys plays Junod. They are joined by Chris Cooper who stars as Junod’s father. Micah Fitzerman-Blue & Noah Harpster (Transparent, The Motel Life) wrote the screenplay. Decca Records will release a soundtrack album for the Lebanese drama Capernaum. The album features the film’s original music composed by Khaled Mouzanar (Where Do We Go Now?, Caramel). Capernaum is written and directed by Nadine Labaki and stars Zain Al Rafeea, Yordanos Shiferaw, Boluwatife Treasure Bankole, Kawthar Al Haddad, Fadi Kamel Youssef and Cedra Izam. Milan Records will release the official soundtrack album for Steve McQueen’s heist thriller Widows.
