The album features the film’s original music composed by Jocelyn Pook (Eyes Wide Shut, The Merchant of Venice, Brick Lane, The Staircase). BBC’s & Netflix’s ‘Watership Down’ to Feature Theme Song by Sam Smith

BBC has announced today that Sam Smith has recorded an original original song for the animated mini-series Watership Down. The track, entitled Fire On Fire, which will serve as the theme for the show, is co-written by Smith & Steve Mac and was recorded with the BBC Concert Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios in London this past September. The 4-part series is directed by Noam Murro and stars James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Ben Kingsley, John Boyega, Gemma Arterton, Tom Wilkinson, Miles Jupp, Freddie Fox, Olivia Colman, Anne-Marie Duff, Daniel Kaluuya, Rosamund Pike, Peter Capaldi, Taron Egerton, Mackenzie Crook and Gemma Chan. The film is directed by Joe Berlinger (Brother’s Keeper, Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2) and stars Zac Efron as Ted Bundy, alongside Lily Collins, Kaya Scodelario, John Malkovich, Haley Joel Osment, Jim Parsons, Terry Kinney and Dylan Baker. The movie tells the story of serial killer Ted Bunny from the perspective of his girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer, who struggled to accept the reality of her boyfriend’s nature. Back Lot Music will release a score album for Illumination Entertainment’s animated feature Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch. The album features the film’s original score composed by Danny Elfman (Spider-Man, Batman, Alice in Wonderland, Nightmare Before Christmas, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory). The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 9, 2018 and will be available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. As previously reported, Columbia Records will release a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie and two tracks from Elfman’s score. Sony Classical will release the official soundtrack album for Jason Reitman’s drama The Front Runner. The album features the film’s original music composed by Rob Simonsen (Love, Simon, The Spectacular Now, Foxcatcher, Nerve, (500) Days of Summer) who has previously collaborated with the director on his last feature, Tully. John Murphy (28 Days Later…, Sunshine, Snatch, Miami Vice, Kick-Ass) has signed on to score the upcoming BBC/PBS Masterpiece mini-series Les Miserables. The show is developed by Andrew Davies (Bridget Jones’s Diary, House of Cards, War & Peace) based on Victor Hugo’s classic novel and stars Dominic West as Jean Valjean, David Oyelowo as Javert, Lily Collins and Fantine, Adeel Akhtar and Olivia Colman as Monsieur and Madame Thénardier, as well as Ellie Bamber, Josh O’Connor and Erin Kellyman. The film is directed by Justin Baldoni and stars Haley Lu Richardson, Cole Sprouse, Moises Arias, Kimberly Hebert Gregory, Parminder Nagra and Claire Forlani. The movie follows two young people who meet and fall in love while being treated for their illnesses, knowing that they are both living on borrowed time. Mikki Daughtry & Tobias Iaconis (The Curse of La Llorona) wrote the screenplay. Baldoni is also producing the project with Cathy Schulman (Crash, The Illusionist, The Foreigner).
