Walt Disney Records has released the original song Welcome to Amphibia from the Disney Channel animated series Amphibia. Dubois Records has released a soundtrack album for the Amazon & ITV original series The Widow. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Emmy Award nominee Dominik Scherrer (The Missing, Requiem, Primeval, Ripper Street). The soundtrack is now available to download on iTunes, where you can also listen to audio samples. The Widow is created by Harry & Jack Williams and stars Kate Beckinsale, Alex Kingston, Charles Dance and Babs Olusanmokun. The series follows woman who has cut herself off from her previous life but is pulled back to the face that world after seeing her supposedly deceased husband on the news. The album features the film’s original music composed by Drum & Lace (The First Monday in May, The Gospel According to Andre) and Ian Hultquist (Assassination Nation, Animals, A.X.L.). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, May 3 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. David Holmes (Ocean’s Eleven, Out of Sight, Haywire) & Keefus Ciancia (True Detective, The Motel Life) won their first BAFTA TV Craft Award today for her music for the BBC series Killing Eve developed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge and starring Sandra Oh & Jodie Comer. Premiering in the U.S. on Tuesday, April 30, is the anime series Ingress: The Animation based on the eponymous location-enabled game and starring Yoshiki Nakajima, Reina Ueda and Shigeo Kiyama. The series, which is set after scientists discover a mysterious substance that can influence human minds, and follows two factions wage an all-out battle to control its awesome power, will be available to stream stateside and in most others markets exclusively on Netflix. It was announced today that Gabriel Yared (The English Patient, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Cold Mountain, The Lives of Others) is the recipient of this year’s Max Steiner Film Music Achievement Award, which will be presented at the annual Hollywood in Vienna Concert Gala at Vienna Concert Hall on October 19, 2019. The composer will be accepting the award in person and will also perform his compositions on the piano, together with the ORF Vienna Radio Symphonic Orchestra, under the baton of Keith Lockhart (Boston Pops) on stage.
