Premiering on Tuesday, January 8, is the History original series Project Blue Book created by David O’Leary, executive produced by Robert Zemeckis and starring Aidan Gillen, Laura Mennell, Michael Harney, Ksenia Solo and Michael Malarkey. The show’s original music is composed by Daniel Wohl (Search Party, They’ll Love Me When I’m Dead). The drama is based on the true, top-secret investigations into Unidentified Flying Objects (UFOs) and related phenomena conducted by the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1969. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack EP for the Netflix original series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. The EP features four songs from the show’s first season performed by cast members Kiernan Shipka, Tati Gabrielle, Adeline Rudolph, Abigail Cowen, Miranda Otto, Jai Sinclair and Gavin Leatherwood. The only new movie opening nationwide this week is the psychological thriller Escape Room directed by Adam Robitel and starring Taylor Russell, Logan Miller, Deborah Ann Woll, Jay Ellis, Tyler Labine, Nik Dodani and Yorick van Wageningen. The film’s original music is composed by Brian Tyler (Furious 7Crazy Rich AsiansIron Man 3, Avengers: Age of Ultron) and John Carey. Opening in limited release is the indie thriller State Like Sleep written and directed by Meredith Danluck and starring Katherine Waterston, Michael Shannon, Luke Evans, Michiel Huisman and Mary Kay Place. Jeff Grace is reuniting with director Jim Mickle on the upcoming Netflix original movie In the Shadow of the Moon. The film starring Boyd Holbrook, Michael C. Hall, Cleopatra Coleman and Bokeem Woodbine follows a Chicago detective who leads the hunt for an elusive serial killer whose crimes are timed to the lunar cycle. Gregory Weidman & Geoff Tock wrote the screenplay. Brian Kavanaugh-Jones (Sinister, Midnight Special) & Rian Cahill are producing the sci-fi thriller for Automatik, alongside Ben Pugh (Welcome to the Punch, The Autopsy of Jane Doe) for 42, and Linda Moran (Transamerica) & Mickle for Nightshade. John Powell (The Bourne Identity, Shrek, Solo: A Star Wars Story, Happy Feet, X-Men: The Last Stand) has revealed the track list of the soundtrack album for the animated sequel How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World. The album features the film’s original written by the Academy Award-nominated composer who has previously scored the first two installments in the How to Train Your Dragon series. Also included is the new song Together From Afar performed by Jónsi. The soundtrack will be released on February 1 by Back Lot Music and is now available for pre-order on Amazon (CD version) and here (digital version). How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World is directed by Dean DeBlois and features the voices of Jay Baruchel, America Ferrera, Cate Blanchett, Kit Harrington, Craig Ferguson and F. Murray Abraham. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album for Walt Disney World’s themed area Pandora: The World of Avatar. The album features the music written by Academy Award winner James Horner (Titanic, Braveheart, A Beautiful Mind, Apollo 13) and Simon Franglen (The Magnificent Seven, Peppermint) for the attractions located in the themed area. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon and iTunes, where you can also check out audio samples. Gaumont and Légende Films have released a soundtrack album for the French/Belgian historical comedy drama Edmond. The album features the film’s original music composed by Romain Trouillet (Sauvage). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out the full album details and listen to to audio clips. A CD version will also be released overseas. Edmond is written and directed by Alexis Michalik and stars Thomas Solivérès, Olivier Gourmet, Mathilde Seigner and Tom Leeb. The movie based on Michalik’s hit stage play of the same title is set against the vibrant backdrop of Belle Epoque Paris and revolves around the writing of the world famous play Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand in 1897. The film is directed by Dan Berk & Robert Olsen (The Stakelander, Body) and stars Bill Skarsgard, Maika Monroe, Kyra Sedgwick and Jeffrey Donovan. The movie follows two amateur criminals who, after breaking into a suburban home, stumble upon a dark secret and two sadistic homeowners who will do anything to keep it from getting out. Tim & Trevor White (Ingrid Goes West, LBJ) and Allan Mandelbaum (Welcome Home) are producing the project for Star Thrower Entertainment, alongside Garrick Dion (Prospect, Parallel) for the Realm. Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the documentary On Her Shoulders. The album features the film’s original music composed by Patrick Jonsson (Virunga, The White Helmets, Black Earth Rising). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, January 4 and will be available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. On Her Shoulders is directed by Alexandria Bombach and focuses on Nadia Murad, who survived the 2014 genocide of the Yazidis in Northern Iraq and escaped sexual slavery at the hands of ISIS.
