Amazon Studios has released the opening title sequence of the new Amazon original series Good Omens. The show’s composer David Arnold (Independence Day, Casino Royale, Stargate, Tomorrow Never Dies, Sherlock) has written the theme accompanying the sequence, which can be checked out in full after the jump. The movie marks Roberts’ second directorial effort and stars Sally Hawkins, Alice Lowe, David Thewlis, Billie Piper and Penelope Wilton. The film centers on a woman who, after being rejected by life, spirals into a chaotic, schizophrenic world, where love and normality collide. The 9th Guild of Music Supervisors Awards were handed out on Wednesday night at Ace Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. Julianne Jordan and Julia Michels received the top honor in the Best Music Supervision in Motion Picture – Motion Picture Over 25M for their work on Bradley Cooper’s A Star Is Born. They also accepted a second award for the Academy Award-nominated song Shallow performed by Lady Gaga & Cooper and co-written by Lady Gaga, Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando & Andrew Wyatt in the Best Song/Recording Created for a Film category. Sony Classical will release The World of Hans Zimmer – A Symphonic Celebration. The album features music from the Zimmer-curated World of Hans Zimmer international concert tour by Semmel Concerts, for which Zimmer has newly arranged his greatest hits and turned them into concert suites for orchestra, choir and various soloists, including Lisa Gerrard, multi-instrumentalist Pedro Eustache, and opera singer Valentina Nafornita. The recording for the album took place at Hollywood in Vienna last fall and features the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra and choir Neue Wiener Stimmen conducted by Martin Gellner. Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL) (Mad Max: Fury Road, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Black Mass, Divergent) confirmed in a new interview with Film Music Magazine that he is currently scoring the upcoming live-action/animated hybrid feature Sonic the Hedgehog. The film is directed by Jeff Fowler and stars Ben Schwartz, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Neal McDonough, Adam Pally and Jim Carrey. The movie is based on the Sega video game franchise and follows a small-town sheriff in the rural town of Green Hills who teams up with Sonic to help him escape from the government who is looking to capture him.
