Deutsche Grammophon has announced the full details of the Celebrating John Williams concert recording album. The album features some of the best-known works of composer John Williams recorded in late January 2019 at four concerts at Walt Disney Concert Hall performed by the Los Angeles Philharmonic and conducted by Gustavo Dudamel. Among the titles included are themes from Star WarsJurassic ParkHarry Potter, and Indiana Jones, as well a previously a unreleased concert arrangement (Adagio) for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Dhani Harrison & Paul Hicks (Beautiful Creatures, Learning to Drive, The Divide, Outsiders) have composed the original score for the new HBO docu-series The Case Against Adnan Syed. The 4-parter is directed by Amy Berg (West of Memphis, Deliver Us from Evil) and centers on the 1999 murder of 18-year-old Baltimore County high school student Hae Min Lee, and the subsequent conviction of her ex-boyfriend, Adnan Syed, a case brought to global attention by the hugely popular Serial podcast. The film is directed by Thea Sharrock and stars Ariana Greenblatt, Bryan Cranston, Ramon Rodriguez, Indira Varma and Eleanor Matsuura in the live-action roles. The project’s voice cast includes Angelina Jolie, Sam Rockwell, Brooklynn Prince, Danny DeVito and Helen Mirren. Composer Mychael Danna is set to reteam with director Atom Egoyan on the upcoming psychological drama Guest of Honour. The film is written and directed by Egoyan and stars David Thewlis, Laysla De Oliveira, Luke Wilson, Rossif Sutherland and Alexandre Bourgeois. The movie centers on the relationship between a father and his 20-something year old daughter who wants to remain in jail for a sexual assault she knows she’s been wrongfully indicted for.
