Mychael Danna and Jeff Danna are composing the music for the upcoming animated feature The Breadwinner. The film based on young adult novel by Deborah Ellis is directed by Nora Twomey (The Secret of Kells). The movie tells the story of Parvana, a young girl living under the Taliban regime, who cuts her hair and disguises herself as a boy in order to provide for her family after her father is imprisoned. The album features the original songs from the film written by the movie’s director/star Zoe Lister-Jones and Kyle Forester and performed by The Dirty Dishes (Lister-Jones, Adam Pally & Fred Armisen). The animated short is directed by Kevin Deters & Stevie Wermers-Skelton (Prep & Landing, The Ballad of Nessie) and features the voices of Kristen Bell, Josh Gad and Idina Menzel as their characters from the Frozen feature film. Roy Conli (Big Hero 6, Tangled) is producing the project. Kate Anderson and Elyssa Samsel have written original songs for the TV special.
