Premiering on Thursday, September 12, is the Netflix limited series The I-Land created by Neil LaBute and starring Kate Bosworth, Alex Pettyfer, Natalie Martinez, Kyle Schmid, Gilles Geary and Ronald Peet. The show’s original music is composed by Emily Rice. The sci-fi thriller, which follows a group of strangers who fight to survive harsh realities – and the island that traps them stream, will be available to stream on Thursday exclusively on Netflix.

Premiering on Friday, September 13, is the Netflix original series Unbelievable developed by Susannah Grant, Michael Chabon & Ayelet Waldman and starring Toni Collette, Merritt Wever and Kaitlyn Dever. Will Bates (I Origins, The Path, Another Earth, The Looming Tower) is composing the show’s original music. Giancarlo Vulcano (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Great News) is the composer of the upcoming USA original series Briarpatch. The show is created by Andy Greenwald and stars Rosario Dawson, Jay F. Ferguson, Edi Gathegi, Kim Dickens and Brian Geraghty. The drama revolves around a Washington political fixer as she returns to her hometown to unravel the mystery surrounding her sister’s death and comes face-to-face with old acquaintances carrying new agendas. ‘Us’ Live Concert Experience Announced

AEG and Monkeypaw Productions have announced a live concert event for Jordan Peele’s Us. The film’s composer Michael Abels (Get Out) will be conducting the Hollywood Studio Orchestra and a live choir for a performance of his score while the movie is playing on the big screen. The only movie opening nationwide this weekend is the horror movie IT: Chapter Two directed by Andy Muschietti and starring Bill Skarsgård, Jessica Chastain, James McAvoy, Bill Hader, Isaiah Mustafa, Jay Ryan, James Ransone and Andy Bean. The film’s original music is composed by Benjamin Wallfisch (Hidden Figures, Blade Runner 2049, Shazam!, Annabelle Creation). Opening in Los Angeles before expanding to more markets over the next couple of weeks is the indie drama Ms. Purple written and directed by Justin Chon and starring Tiffany Chu and Teddy Lee. Cynthia Erivo has recorded an original song for the biographical drama Harriet. The song, entitled Stand Up, is co-written by Erivo who also stars in the movie’s title role & Joshuah Brian Campbell and is produced by Will Wells & Gabe Fox-Peck. The track will be featured in the film directed by Kasi Lemmons and also starring Janelle Monáe, Leslie Odom Jr. and Joe Alwyn. Terence Blanchard has composed the original score for the drama, which tells the story of abolitionist Harriet Tubman, who escaped slavery and risked her life to lead others to freedom through the network of safehouses known as the Underground Railroad. ‘Mr. Robot’ Volume 6 Soundtrack Details

Lakeshore Records will release a new soundtrack album for the USA original series Mr. Robot. The album features more music from the show’s third season composed by Mac Quayle (American Horror Story, American Crime Story, Feud: Bette and Joan, Pose) who received an Emmy Award for his music from the series in 2016. The Volume 6 soundtrack will be released digitally on September 13 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released five soundtrack albums featuring the composer’s music from the first three seasons of the show. Mr. Robot created by Sam Esmail and starring Rami Malek, Christian Slater, Portia Doubleday, Martin Wallstrom and Carly Chaikin will return for its fourth and final season on October 6 on USA. ‘The Last Photograph’ Soundtrack Released

Nowever Records has released a soundtrack album for the British drama The Last Photograph. The album features the film’s original music composed by Peter Raeburn (Woodlawn, Nancy, Photograph). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon Music, where you can also check out audio samples. The Last Photograph is directed by Danny Huston who also stars in the movie, alongside Johan Hauer-King, Stacy Martin, Sarita Choudhury, Vincent Regan, Michelle Ryan and Jaime Winstone. The drama is based on Simon Astaire’s novel of the same title and follows a middle-aged man as he searches for a stolen photograph of his son, which was taken shortly before he was killed in the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103. The film is being released in select U.S. theaters and on VOD this weekend by Freestyle Digital Media. The film is written and directed by Jason Lei Howden (Deathgasm) and stars Daniel Radcliffe, Samara Weaving, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Ned Dennehy and Rhys Darby. The movie centers on a nerdy video game developer as he becomes the next contestant in an illegal live-streamed death match. Strange But True is directed by Rowan Athale and stars Amy Ryan, Nick Robinson, Margaret Qualley, Blythe Danner, Brian Cox, Greg Kinnear and Connor Jessup.
