Premiering tonight is the HBO original documentary series The Mortician directed by Joshua Rofé about the Lamb Funeral Home in Pasadena that took advantage of their clients at their most vulnerable moments in the early 1980s. The show’s original music is composed by Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse,  Enola HolmesSteve Jobs, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Birds of Prey) and Adem Ilhan (In the LoopThe Ballad of Wallis Island, Avenue 5The Beautiful Game). Premiering in the U.S. on Wednesday, June 4, is the British TV series Mr Loverman based on the novel of the same title by Bernardine Evaristo, adapted by Nathaniel Price and starring Lennie James, Ariyon Bakare and Sharon D. Clarke. Speakers Corner Quartet have composed the show’s original music. OTIH Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the musicians’ score last fall. The show is created by Jason Keller (Ford v. Ferrari, Machine Gun Preacher) and stars Owen Wilson, Peter Dager, Marc Maron, Lilli Kay, Mariana Treviño, Judy Greer and Timothy Olyphant. The sports comedy follows an ex-pro golfer whose career was derailed prematurely 20 years ago and – after the collapse of his marriage and getting fired from his job at a sporting goods store – hedges his bets entirely on a troubled 17-year-old golf phenom. La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1986 slasher sequel Friday the 13th Part VI – Jason Lives written and directed by Tom McLoughlin and starring Thom Mathews, Jennifer Cooke, Renée Jones, David Kagen, Kerry Noonan and Darcy DeMoss. The album features the newly restored, remixed, remastered and expanded original score from the sixth installment in the Friday the 13th series composed by Harry Manfredini (Wishmaster, House, Swamp Thing, DeepStar Six), including previously unreleased music. Benjamin Wallfisch (Alien: Romulus, IT, The Flash TwistersBlade Runner 2049, Shazam!, Hidden Figures, The Invisible Man) has composed the original music for the new animated action adventure Predator: Killer of Killers. The film is directed by Dan Trachtenberg (Prey, 10 Cloverfield Lane), co-directed by Josh Wassung (from animation company The Third Floor) and features the voices of Lindsay LaVanchy, Louis Ozawa Changchien, Rick Gonzalez and Michael Biehn. The movie follows three of the fiercest warriors in human history: a Viking raider guiding her young son on a quest for revenge, a WWII pilot who to investigates an otherworldly threat to the Allied cause and a ninja in feudal Japan who turns against his Samurai brother in a battle for succession. Alf Clausen (1941-2025)

Alf Clausen passed away yesterday at age 84 at his home in Los Angeles after battling Parkinson’s disease. The composer is best known for his music for the Fox animated hit show The Simpsons, which he scored between 1990 and 2017 and for which he received two Emmy Awards and 23 Emmy Award nominations. His other scoring credits include ACB’s Moonlighting, for which he received six additional Emmy Award nominations, the NBC sitcom ALF, the ABC/Fox adult animated series The Critic, the CBS sitcom Bette, as well as the 1998 feature comedy Half Baked. The first Doctor Who spin-off series is written by Russell T Davies (Doctor Who, Torchwood) & Pete McTighe (A Discovery of Witches, The Pact) and stars Russell Tovey, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ruth Madeley, Colin McFarlane, Jemma Redgrave and Alexander Devrient. Atlantic Records has released the sixth track from the soundtrack for the sports action drama F1. Available to stream/download on all major digital music services is Just Keep Watching co-written (with Ryan Tedder, Tyler Spry & Amy Allen) and performed by Tate McRae. The album features the songs from the movie performed by artists such as CIFIKA, Meego, John Park and Wave to Earth’s Kim Daniel. Also included is the film’s original score composed by 1of1.
