Walt Disney Records has released a new soundtrack album for the Disney+ original Star Wars series The Mandalorian. The album features the original music from the seventh episode of the show composer by Academy Award winner Ludwig Goransson (Black Panther, Creed, Venom, Community, Fruitvale Station). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio clips. The label has previously released soundtracks for the series’ first six chapters over the last couple of weeks. The Mandalorian is written and executive produced by Jon Favreau and stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Giancarlo Esposito, Carl Weathers, Omid Abtahi, Emily Swallow, Werner Herzog and Nick Nolte. Singer/songwriter Julia Holter is composing the original music for the upcoming drama Never Rarely Sometimes Always. The film is written and directed by Eliza Hittman (Beach Rats) and stars Sidney Flanigan, Talia Ryder, Théodore Pellerin, Ryan Eggold and Sharon Van Etten. The movie revolves around two teenage girls in rural Pennsylvania who travel to New York City to seek out medical help after an unintended pregnancy. Magic Light Pictures has released a soundtrack album for the animated short The Snail and the Whale. The album features composed by René Aubry (The Gruffalo, The Bears’ Famous Invasion, The Highway Rat, Under the Bombs, Zog). The Snail and the Whale directed by Max Lang & Daniel Snaddon is based on a book by author Julia Donaldson and illustrator Axel Scheffler and features the voices of Rob Brydon, Sally Hawkins & Cariad Lloyd, as well as Dame Diana Rigg as the narrator. Simon Franglen to Compose Music for James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’ Sequels

Simon Franglen has been hired to write indigenous songs to be performed on screen by members of various Na’vi clans for James Cameron’s Avatar 2 & 3. The composer is also attached to score the first two sequels (which are being shot simultaneously) to the Academy Award-nominated 2009 film (scored by James Horner) will star Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Dileep Rao and Matt Gerald who are reprising their roles from the original film. They are joined by Sigourney Weaver (in a new role) and new cast members Kate Winslet, Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco, Michelle Yeoh, Jemaine Clement, Oona Chaplin, Brendan Cowell, David Thewlis, Vin Diesel and CJ Jones. New Soundtrack Album for BBC’s & HBO’s ‘His Dark Materials’ Announced

Silva Screen Records has announced the details of the second soundtrack album for the BBC/HBO series His Dark Materials. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s first season composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The LEGO Batman Movie, The Crown, Genius, Home, Terminator Genisys), performed by the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and conducted by Matt Dunkley. The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, December 20 and will be available to stream/download here. A CD version is set to come out in February of next year. Mica Levi (Jackie, Under the Skin, Monos) is scoring the upcoming drama Zola. The film is directed by Janicza Bravo and stars Taylour Paige, Riley Keough, Nicholas Braun and Colman Domingo. The movie is based on a series of tweets from Aziah ‘Zola’ Wells who, in 2015, detailed a wild 2-day trip to Florida with a sex worker, her boyfriend and he violent pimp. Bravo also co-wrote the screenplay with Jeremy O. Harris. Christine Vachon (Carol, Far from Heaven), David Hinojosa (First Reformed, Vox Lux), Vince Jolivette (The Disaster Artist, Palo Alto), Elizabeth Haggard, Dave Franco and Gia Walsh (The Art of Getting By) are producing the project. Caldera Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release of four original scores composed by Andrew Dickson (Vera Drake) for movies directed by Mike Leigh, including the composer’s music for the 1993 comedy Naked starring David Thewlis and for the Academy Award-nominated 1996 feature Secrets & Lies starring Timothy Spall, Brenda Blethyn & Marianne Jean-Baptiste. Also included are Dickon’s scores for Leigh’s 1983 TV movie Meantime and the 1988 comedy High Hopes, as well as an interview with Leigh as a bonus track.
