Mac Quayle (Mr. Robot, American Horror Story, American Crime Story, Feud: Bette and Joan, The Politician) has composed the original music for the new HBO docu-series The Vow. The show is directed by Jehane Noujaim & Karim Amer (The Square, The Great Hack) and examines the self-improvement group NXIVM, whose leaders have been charged with sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy. The 9-parter takes a look at the organization faced with various charges, including sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy, against its highest members – most notably founder Keith Raniere, who was convicted in June 2019 and is currently awaiting sentencing. Actress Amandla Stenberg (The Hate U Give, The Eddy, Everything, Everything, The Darkest Minds) has been cast in the upcoming film adaptation of the stage musical Dear Evan Hansen. She will also be performing and co-writing an original song for the movie with Academy Award winners Benj Pasek & Justin Paul (The Greatest Showman, La La Land). The film will be directed by Stephen Chbosky (Wonder, The Perks of Being a Wallflower) and produced by Marc Platt (Bridge of Spies, Mary Poppins Returns) and Adam Siegel (Drive, 2 Guns). Academy Award nominee Diane Warren has written the original song Free for Disney’s fantasy adventure The One and Only Ivan. The track is performed by Charlie Puth and will be featured during the movie’s end credits sequence. The song will be included on the movie’s official soundtrack album, which also features the film’s original score composed by Craig Armstrong (Moulin Rouge!, The Great Gatsby) and will be released digitally this Friday, August 21. Air-Edel Records has announced the worldwide release of the soundtrack album for Matteo Garrone’s film adaptation of Pinocchio. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Dario Marianelli (AtonementPride and PrejudiceKubo and the Two StringsV for Vendetta, Anna Karenina, Bumblebee, Darkest Hour) who recorded his score with the Roma Tre Orchestra at Digital Records. Also included is the end titles song Passo Passo written by Marianelli and performed by Petra Magoni. The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 28, 2020 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released the soundtrack exclusively in Italy last December when the movie opened in Italian theaters. Abrams and starring Jurnee Smollett, Jonathan Majors, Aunjanue Ellis, Abbey Lee, Jada Harris, Wunmi Mosaku and Michael Kenneth Williams. The show’s original music is composed by Laura Karpman (StepSet It UpTaken, Why We Hate) and Raphael Saadiq (InsecureBlack Nativity, The After Party). Premiering in the U.S. on Tuesday, August 18, is the British comedy Dead Pixels created by Jon Brown and starring Alexa Davies, Will Merrick, Sargon Yeld, Charlotte Ritchie, David Mumeni and Noush Skaugen. Andrew Barnabas & Paul Arnold (The Hatton Garden Job, Stoner Express, Primal, My Brother Is a Dog) are composing the show’s original music. The series, which, premiered last year in the UK on E4 and will debut in the U.S. on The CW. The comedy, which follows a group of friends who are obsessed with the online fantasy game “Kingdom Scrolls,” has already been renewed for a second season and will air every Tuesday night. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for Maine, the fifth episode of the Apple TV+ docu-series Home. The album features the original music from the episode composed by Amanda Jones (Twenties, Cherish the Day) who has received her first Primetime Emmy Award nomination for her work on the project. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon, Apple Music and other music stores. The label has previously released a soundtrack featuring selections of the music from all episodes of the show. Maine directed by Scott Weintrob premiered this past April as part of Home, which looks inside the world’s most innovative homes and unveils the imagination of the visionaries who dared to dream and build them. The film is directed by Tim Hill (Alvin and the Chipmunks, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run) and stars Robert De Niro, Uma Thurman, Oakes Fegley, Rob Riggle, Christopher Walken, Cheech Marin and Jane Seymour. The movie is based on Robert Kimmel Smith’s bestselling book and follows a boy who is forced to move out of his room when his recently widowed grandfather moves in and devises outrageous pranks to make his grandfather surrender the room. The album features the film’s original music composed by Alex Cuervo (Scare Package, A Bad Idea Gone Wrong). The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, August 21 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Pale Door is co-written and directed by Aaron B. Koontz and stars Devin Druid, Zachary Knighton, Bill Sage, Pat Healy, Natasha Bassett, Stan Shaw and Melora Walters. The movie follows the Dalton gang as they find shelter in a seemingly uninhabited ghost town after a train robbery goes south, when they are surprised to stumble upon a welcoming brothel in the town’s square.
