Varèse Sarabande and Craft Recordings have announced a new picture disc release of the score album for DreamWorks Animation’s 2001 feature Shrek directed by Andrew Adamson & Vicky Jenson and starring Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy, Cameron Diaz & John Lithgow. The album features the film’s original music composed by Harry Gregson-Williams (The Chronicles of Narnia, The Martian, Kingdom of Heaven, Mulan, The Meg, Man on Fire, Chicken Run) and John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, Wicked, The Bourne Identity, Solo: A Star Wars Story, X-Men: The Last Stand, Happy Feet). The collectible vinyl features newly designed character artwork, including a hero image of the film’s protagonists on side A and Shrek and Fiona on side B will be released on August 28 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A Barnes & Noble-exclusive variant offering alternate film imagery will also be coming out on the same day. The full details of the soundtrack album for Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu have been revealed. The album features the film’s original score composed by Academy Award winner Ludwig Göransson (Oppenheimer, Sinners, Black Panther, Tenet, Creed, Turning Red, Venom, Community). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, May 15 by Walt Disney Records and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. As previously reported, a standard vinyl edition pressed on 12-inch black vinyl featuring 13 score tracks will be coming out on June 5 (visit Amazon to pre-order) and a special limited edition Mandalorian helmet-shaped 10” die-cut vinyl, which includes two new score cues, will be released on May 22 (click here to order). The album features the songs by show’s the fictional band After Hours & actor Josh Heuston and lead actress Ella Bright (who stars as Hannah Wells), including a track written by Amy Allen & Ethan Gruska for the finale episode.
