Daniel Pemberton has recently composed the music for the upcoming Black Mirror episode USS Callister. The episode is directed by Toby Haynes (Doctor Who, Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell) and stars Jesse Plemons, Cristin Milioti, Jimmi Simpson, Michaela Coel and Billy Magnussen. The show’s creator Charlie Brooker wrote the script with William Bridges (SuperBob). No plot details have been announced yet. Pemberton follows composers such as Clint Mansell, Max Richter, Bear McCreary, Ben Salisbury & Geoff Barrow, Martin Phipps, among others who previously scored episodes of the anthology series.

‘The Get Down’ Score Album to Be Released
RCA Records will release a new soundtrack album for the Netflix original series The Get Down. The album features selections from the show’s original score composed by Elliott Wheeler (Restraint). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 8. The download link will be added to this article over night. The label has previously released two soundtracks for Part I and Part II of the drama featuring the songs from the series. The Get Down is created by Baz Luhrmann and stars Justice Smith, Shameik Moore, Herizen Guardiola, Skylan Brooks, Tremaine Brown Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Jimmy Smits. The show is set in 1977 New York City and follows the talented and soulful youth of the South Bronx as they chase dreams and breakneck beats to transform music history.
‘Twin Peaks’ Limited Event Series Soundtrack Details
Following this past Sunday’s season finale, the full details of the two soundtrack albums for Showtime’s Twin Peaks limited event series have been revaled. The Twin Peaks (Limited Event Series Soundtrack) album features the show’s original score composed by Angelo Badalamenti (Blue Velvet, The Straight Story, Mulholland Drive), as well as tracks by Chromatics, Johnny Jewel and Muddy Magnolias. The Twin Peaks (Music from the Limited Event Series) album features the songs from the new season by artists including The Cactus Blossoms, Sharon Van Etten, Nine Inch Nails, Eddie Vedder, ZZ Top & more. Lin-Manuel Miranda has recorded a new version of The Magic School Bus theme song for the upcoming Netflix original series The Magic School Bus Rides Again. BBC’s ‘The Last Post’ to Feature Music by Solomon Grey
Solomon Grey (aka Tom Kingston and Joe Wilson) are composing the original score for the upcoming BBC drama The Last Post. The show is created by Peter Moffat (Criminal Justice, Silk, Undercover) and stars Jessica Raine, Jessie Buckley, Stephen Campbell Moore, Ben Miles and Jeremy Neumark Jones. The drama is set in the mid-1960s and centers on the lives of a Royal Military Police unit and their families in Aden, Yemen. Margery Bone & Elwen Rowlands and George Faber (Shameless, Skins) & Mark Pybus are executive the Bonafide Films & The Forge Entertainment production with Matthew Read.

Damien Chazelle’s Netflix Series ‘The Eddy’ to Feature Music by Glen Ballard
Netflix announced today that Glen Ballard is composing original music for the upcoming Netflix original series The Eddy. The musical drama is creaed by Jack Thorne (National Treasure, This is England) and revolves around a club in contemporary multicultural Paris, its owner, the house band, and the chaotic city that surrounds them. The show will be shot in France and feature dialogue in French, English and Arabic. Damien Chazelle (La La Land, Whiplash) is directing the first two episodes and will serve as an executive producer on the IMG production alongside Ballard,Thorne, Alan Poul (Six Feet Under, The Newsroom), Patrick Spence (Guerrilla, Fortitude) and Katie Swinden (Luther, Peaky Blinders).
‘Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Return’ Soundtrack Released
Shout Factory Records has released a soundtrack album for the Netflix original series Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Return. The album features the songs from the series by cast members including Jonah Ray, Felicia Day, Hampton Yount, Baron Vaughn, Rebecca Hanson, Patton Oswalt, Neil Patrick Harris, Mark Hamill & more, as well as several tracks by Paul and Storm and the comedy’s house band Skeleton Crew. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. Mystery Science Theater 3000: The Return is created by Joel Hodgson and hosted by Jonah Ray who survives a blitz of cheesy B movies by riffing on them with his funny robot pals.
‘The Simpsons’ Fires Composer Alf Clausen
Variety is reporting that Alf Clausen has been fired from the Fox animated series The Simpsons. The composer who is also known for his music for ALF and Moonlighting has been scoring over 560 episodes of the show since the second season in 1990. Clausen received two Emmy Awards for his work on the series and another 21 Emmy nominations between 1992 and 2011. He also won five Annie Awards, as well as numerous ASCAP Film & Television Music Awards for his Simpsons music. No word yet on who will be taking over Clausen’s job for the show’s twenty-ninth season, which is set to premiere on October 1, 2017 on Fox.
Hauschka Scoring BBC’s ‘Gunpowder’
Hauschka (aka Volker Bertelmann) is composing the original score for the upcoming BBC mini-series Gunpowder. The historical thriller is created by Ronan Bennett (Public Enemies) & Daniel West and stars Kit Harington, Liv Tyler, Peter Mullan, Edward Holcroft, Shaun Dooley, Robert Emms, Derek Riddell and Mark Gatiss. The 3-parter follows British activist Guy Fawkes and a group of provincial English Catholics as they plan to blow up the House of Lords and kill King James I in the early 17th century. J. Blakeson (The 5th Wave, The Disappearance of Alice Creed) directed all episodes.
