Netflix Music will release a soundtrack album for the streamer’s original series Mo. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Common, Karriem Riggins and Patrick Warren (The Chi, Alice, The Old Man). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, September 9 and will be available to stream/download here. Mo is created by Mohammed Amer & Ramy Youssef and stars Amer himself, Teresa Ruiz, Omar Elba, Farah Bsieso, Cherien Dabis, Tobe Nwigwe, Walt Roberts, Kamal Zayed and Lee Eddy. The comedy drama is set in Texas and follows the title character as he straddles the line between two cultures, three languages and a pending asylum request while hustling to support his Palestinian family.

‘Tierra Incógnita’ Soundtrack Album Released
Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album for the Argentine Disney+ original series Tierra Incógnita. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s first season composed by Loishka (Daddies on Request). Also included are songs by Olivia Foscaldi, Anahí García Cascabelo and Florencia Mosso. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out the track list and listen to audio samples. Tierra Incógnita is created by Tomás Wortley and stars Pedro Maurizi, Mora Fisz and Tomás Kirzner. The mystery horror drama follows a teenager who discovers a hair-raising world while searching for the truth behind the mysterious disappearance of his parents eight years before.
Trevor Rabin to Return for Disney+’s ‘National Treasure: Edge of History’
Trevor Rabin (Armageddon, Remember the Titans, Gone in 60 Seconds, Bad Boys 2, Con Air) is returning as the composer of the upcoming Disney+ original series National Treasure: Edge of History. The show is created by Cormac & Marianne Wibberley (G-Force, The 6th Day) based on Jon Turtletaub’s features and stars Lisette Olivera, Catherine Zeta Jones, Jake Austin Walker, Jordan Rodrigues, Zuri Reed, Antonio Cipriano and Lyndon Smith. The adventure drama is told from the point of view of a young heroine in search of answers about her family who embarks on the adventure of a lifetime to uncover the truth about the past and save a lost Pan-American treasure.
Federico Jusid Scoring Amazon’s & BBC’s ‘The English’
Federico Jusid (The Secret In Their Eyes, Watership Down, The Head, Misconduct, Life Itself, Loving Pablo) has been tapped to score the upcoming Amazon limited series The English. The show is written and directed by Hugo Blick (The Honorable Woman, Black Earth Rising) and stars Emily Blunt, Chaske Spencer, Stephen Rea, Valerie Pachner, Rafe Spall, Tom Hughes, Toby Jones and Ciarán Hinds. The 6-part western drama tells the story of an aristocratic Englishwoman and a Pawnee ex-cavalry scout who come together in 1890 middle America to cross a violent landscape built on dreams and blood.
Marcelo Zarvos Scoring Showtime’s ‘American Gigolo’
Marcelo Zarvos (Fences, The Affair, Wonder, The Good Shepherd, Enough Said, A Journal for Jordan) is composing the original music for the new Showtime original series American Gigolo. The show is developed by David Hollander (Personal Effects) and stars Jon Bernthal, Gretchen Mol, Rosie O’Donnell, Lizzie Brocheré, Gabriel LaBelle and Leland Orser. The 8-part drama follows Julian Kaye, a present-day reimagining of Paul Schrader’s 1980 classic (scored by Giorgio Moroder), after his wrongful conviction release from prison as he navigates his complicated relationships with his former lover, his troubled mother, and the people who betrayed him.
Bear McCreary Scoring Starz’s ‘The Serpent Queen’
Bear McCreary (Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Outlander, 10 Cloverfield Lane, The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Happy Death Day) is the composer of the new Starz limited series The Serpent Queen. The show is developed by Justin Haythe (Revolutionary Road, A Cure for Wellness) based on the book Catherine de Medici: Renaissance Queen of France by Leonie Frieda and stars Samantha Morton, Amrita Acharia, Enzo Cilenti, Barry Atsma, Danny Kirrane, Nicholas Burns, Sennia Nanua, Beth Goddard, Antonia Clarke, George Jaques, Liv Hill, Charles Dance, Ludivine Sagnier, Colm Meaney, Kiruna Stamell, Alex Heath and Rupert Everett. The historical drama centers on the nefarious Catherine de Medici, who, against all odds, became one of the most powerful and longest-serving rulers in French history.
Daniel Hart Scoring AMC’s ‘Interview with the Vampire’ TV Series
Daniel Hart (The Green Knight, Pete’s Dragon, A Ghost Story, The Old Man and the Gun, Strange Angel) is scoring the upcoming AMC original series Interview with the Vampire. The show is created by Rolin Jones (Perry Mason) and stars Jacob Anderson, Sam Reid, Bailey Bass, Assad Zaman and Eric Bogosian. The 7-part drama is based on Anne Rice’s iconic gothic novel and follows Louis de Pointe, Lestat De Lioncourt and Claudia’s story of love, blood and the perils of immortality, as told to journalist Daniel Molloy.
‘Cars on the Road’ Soundtrack Album Details
Walt Disney Records will release a soundtrack album for the Disney+ animated series Cars on the Road. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Jake Monaco (Dumplin’, Flora & Ulysses, Let’s Be Cops, Forky Asks a Question, Jerry & Marge Go Large, Lamp Life, Out). Also included is the main title song written by Monaco & Bobby Podesta and performed by Bobby Hamrick (check out the main title sequence after the jump), as well as two other songs performed by the series’ voice cast. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 5 and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music platforms, including Amazon. Cars on the Road is directed by Steve Purcell, Podesta & Brian Fee, produced by Marc Sondheimer and stars Owen Wilson and Larry the Cable Guy. The Pixar Animation Studios production follows Lightning McQueen and his best friend Mater as they head east from Radiator Springs on a cross-country road trip to meet up with Mater’s sister.
Weekly TV Music Roundup (September 4, 2022)
Premiering in the U.S. today is the Showtime sports documentary McEnroe directed by Barney Douglas about the tennis legend and four-time US Open champion. The film’s original music is composed by The Maccabees guitarist and songwriter Felix White (The Edge). A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score was released digitally this summer and a vinyl edition will be coming out in 2023. Premiering on Thursday, September 8, is the Disney+ original movie Pinocchio directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Tom Hanks, Luke Evans, Cynthia Erivo, Keegan-Michael Key and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth. Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Avengers: Endgame, Forrest Gump, Cast Away) has composed the film’s original score and also co-wrote original songs with Glen Ballard.
