WaterTower Music has released two more tracks from the soundtrack for the HBO original series House of the Dragon. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music services are the tracks Lament & Fate of the Kingdoms composed by the show’s Emmy Award-winning composer Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Westworld, Eternals, Pacific Rim, Uncharted, Iron Man). Listen to both tracks below. The label has previously released two first tracks ((The Prince That Was Promised and Protector of the Realm) in previous weeks. A full soundtrack album is expected to come out after the season finale premieres next week.

Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross Scoring Luca Guadagnino’s ‘Challengers’
Luca Guadagnino has revealed in a recent interview with Variety that Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross (The Social Network, Mank, Soul, Gone Girl, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) are currently scoring the director’s upcoming romantic sports comedy Challengers. The film starring Zendaya, Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor follows a tennis player-turned-coach who has transformed her husband from a mediocre player into a world-famous Grand Slam champion and makes him play a “Challenger” event, where he finds himself standing across the net from his former best friend.

Premiering on Tuesday, October 18, is the HBO original documentary Mama’s Boy directed by Laurent Bouzereau and produced by Mickey Liddell, Pete Shilaimon, Steven Shareshian, Darryl Frank & Justin Falvey. The film’s original music is composed by Raphaelle Thibaut (Secrets of the Whales, Introducing, Selma Blair, Fantastic Beasts: A Natural History). The Amblin Television and Playtone production, which centers on the upbringing of Academy Award-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black (Milk) and is based on his 2019 memoir Mama’s Boy: A Story from Our Americas, will air on HBO and will also be available to stream on HBO Max.
Premiering on Wednesday, October 19, is the Australian thriller The Stranger directed by Thomas M. Wright and starring Joel Edgerton, Sean Harris, Jada Alberts, Cormac Wright, Steve Mouzakis and Matthew Sunderland. Oliver Coates (Aftersun, Significant Other) has composed the film’s original music. A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score is in the works. The movie, which premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, was released theatrically in Australia earlier this month and will be available to stream worldwide on Wednesday on Netflix.
First Tracks from Starz’s ‘Step Up’ Season 3 Soundtrack Released
Lionsgate Records has released the first two tracks from the soundtrack for the third season of the Starz original series Step Up. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music services is the new Step Up Main Theme by Ne-Yo (who also stars in the drama as High Water founder Sage Odom) and a score suite by the show’s composers Stephanie Economou (Jupiter’s Legacy, The Chair, Manhunt: Deadly Games) & EmmoLei Sankofa (Horror Noire, Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrrls). Choral Version of David Buckley’s ‘The Sandman’ Main Title Theme Released
WaterTower Music has released a choral version of the main title theme from the Netflix original series The Sandman. The track written by the show’s composer David Buckley (The Good Wife, Papillon, Nobody, Evil, The Forbidden Kingdom) and performed by the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Also listen to the theme after the jump. The label has previously released a full soundtrack album featuring selections of Buckley’s score from the fantasy drama in August.
Anna Waronker Scoring Amazon Freevee’s ‘High School’
Anna Waronker (Yellowjackets, Shrill, Harriet the Spy, Santa, Inc., The Republic of Sarah) is the composer of the new Amazon Freevee original series High School. The show is created by Clea DuVall (Happiest Season, The Intervention) & Laura Kittrell based on platinum recording artists Tegan and Sara Quin’s New York Times best-selling memoir of the same title and stars Railey & Seazynn Gilliland, Cobie Smulders and Kyle Bornheimer. The YA comedy drama is told through a backdrop of ‘90s grunge and rave culture and centers on two twin sisters growing up down the hall from one another.
Soundtrack Album for Netflix’s ‘The Playlist’ Released
Netflix Music has released a soundtrack album for the Swedish Netflix limited series The Playlist. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Kristian Eidnes Andersen (Antichrist, Ida, Vivarium, Nobel, The Man Who Saved the World, Petra). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio samples. The Playlist is developed by Luke Franklin based on the novel Spotify Untold by Sven Carlsson & Jonas Leijonhufvud and stars Edvin Endre, Christian Hillborg, Ulf Stenberg, Gizem Erdogan, Joel Lützow, Janice Kavander and Hanna Ardéhn. The 6-part drama revolves around a Swedish tech entrepreneur and his partners as they set out to revolutionize the music industry with a legal streaming platform.
Soundtrack Album for Apple TV+’s ‘Bad Sisters’ to Be Released
Hollywood Records will release a soundtrack album for the Apple TV+ original series Bad Sisters. The album features selections of the original score from the show’s first season composed by PJ Harvey (Peaky Blinders, The Virtues) & Tim Phillips (Shameless, Becoming Elizabeth, Shining Vale). Also included is the opening titles song Who by Fire, which has previously been released as a digital single. The soundtrack will be coming out digitally this Friday, October 14. ‘The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power’ Season 1, Episode 8 (‘Alloyed’) Soundtrack Album Details
The details of the latest soundtrack album the Amazon original series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power have been revealed. The album features the original score from the eighth and final episode (entitled Alloyed) of the show’s first season composed by Emmy Award winner Bear McCreary (Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Outlander, 10 Cloverfield Lane, The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, October 14 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon Music. McCreary’s score from Episodes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 has been released over the last couple of weeks weeks. Netflix Music will release the official soundtrack album for the streamer’s limited series From Scratch. The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Laura Karpman (Ms. Marvel, Set It Up, What If…?, Why We Hate, Paris Can Wait) and Raphael Saadiq (Lovecraft Country, Insecure, The After Party).
