Armand Amar is reteaming with director Radu Mihaileanu on the upcoming drama The History of Love. The film marks the director’s English-language debut and stars Derek Jacobi, Sophie Nelisse, Gemma Arterton and Elliott Gould. The movie is based on the best-selling novel of the same title by Nicole Krauss and centers around a long-lost book that mysteriously reappears and connects an old man searching for his son with a girl seeking a cure for her mother’s loneliness. Mihaileanu is also producing the project with Marc-Antoine Robert and Xavier Rigault (Persepolis, Delicacy).

‘Keep Watching’ to Feature Music by Tyler Bates
Tyler Bates has composed the music for the upcoming horror thriller Keep Watching. The film is directed by Sean Carter and stars Bella Thorne, Ioan Gruffudd, Chandler Riggs, Ioan Gruffudd, Chandler Riggs, Natalie Martinez, Matthew Willig and Leigh Whannell. The movie centers on a family attacked in their home by intruders who play a life-and-death game with mysterious rules. Joseph Dembner has written the screenplay. Nicolas Chartier (The Hurt Locker, Killer Joe) and Craig J. Flores (Charlie Countryman, Fathers & Daughters) are producing the project for Voltage Films, alongside Andrew Rona (Unknown, The Gunman) & Alex Heineman (Non-Stop) for The Picture Company.
Michl Britsch Scoring ‘Trash Fire’
Michl Britsch is composing the score for the upcoming horror comedy Trash Fire. The film is written and directed by Richard Bates Jr. (Excision) and stars Adrian Grenier, Angela Trimbur, Fionnula Flanagan, AnnaLynne McCord, Matthew Gray Gubler, Sally Kirkland, Ray Santiago, Ezra Buzzington and Molly McCool. The movie follows a man who is forced to confront his past when he and his girlfriend end up entangled in a web of lies, deceit and murder. David Lawson Jr. (Spring), Lawrence Mattis (Saint John of Las Vegas, Mr. Right), Matt Smith and Makan Delrahim are producing the project.
Michael Giacchino to Score Brad Bird’s ‘The Incredibles 2’
Brad Bird announced today on Twitter that Michael Giacchino has signed on to compose the music for Pixar’s upcoming sequel The Incredibles 2. The composer was previously attached and expected to score the film given his involvement in the original movie, as well as Bird’s other last three features, Ratatouille, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol and Tomorrowland. No plot details and casting announcements have been made yet for the sequel. The project will mark Giacchino’s sixth project for Pixar Animation Studios.
Black Dice’s Eric Copeland Scoring ‘Antibirth’
Eric Copeland is scoring the upcoming horror thriller Antibirth. The film is written and directed by Danny Perez and stars Natasha Lyonne, Chloë Sevigny, Mark Webber, Meg Tilly and Maxwell McCabe-Lokos. The movie follows a wild-eyed stoner living in a barren desert community who seems to be growing pregnant as rumours of aliens spread. Lyonne is also producing the project with Cole Payne (Downloading Nancy, Cavemen, Roger M. Mayer, David Anselmo and Justin Kelly. Copeland is best known as a member of the electronic music group Black Dice, as well as part of the duo Terrestrial Tones with Animal Collective’s Avey Tare.
Geoff Zanelli to Score Joseph Ruben’s ‘Mountains and Stones’
Geoff Zanelli has been tapped to score the upcoming drama Mountains and Stones. The film is directed by Joseph Ruben and stars Josh Hartnett, Michiel Husman, Hera Hilmar and Haluk Bilginer. The movie tells a love story between an idealistic American nurse and a Turkish officer in World War I. David Loughery (Lakeview Terrace, Passenger 57, Star Trek V: The Final Frontier) has written the screenplay with Jeff Stockwell (Bridge to Terabithia). William Stuart is producing the project.
Tom Holkenborg to Score ‘Brimstone’
Tom Holkenborg aka Junkie XL is set to compose the music for the upcoming thriller Brimstone. The film is written and directed by Martin Koolhoven (Winter in Wartime) and stars Dakota Fanning, Guy Pearce, Carice van Houten, Paul Anderson, Jack Roth and Carla Juri. The movie follows a heroine on the run from her past who is hunted by a diabolical Preacher. Els Vandevorst (Winter in Wartime, The Surprise) is producing the project for N279 Entertainment, alongside Uwe Schott (A Hologram for the King) for X-Filme.
Theodore Shapiro & Ludwig Goransson to Score ‘Central Intelligence’
Theodore Shapiro and Ludwig Goransson are reteaming with director Rawson Marshall Thurber on the upcoming action comedy Central Intelligence. The film stars Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Amy Ryan and Aaron Paul. The movie follows a former high school sports star-turned-accountant who is contacted by a classmate who was bullied and humiliated as a teen but is now a CIA contract killer and lures him into a world of espionage. Thurber has also written the screenplay with Ike Barenholtz & David Stassen (The Mindy Project). Scott Stuber (Role Models, Ted, Safe House) is producing the New Line Cinema production with Michael Fortell (Furious 7, Live Free or Die Hard) and Paul Young & Peter Principato (Married, Jessabelle).
Bear McCreary Scoring ‘The Forest’
Bear McCreary has composed the music for the upcoming supernatural thriller The Forest. The film is directed by Jason Zada and stars Natalie Dormer, Taylor Kinney, Eoin Macken and Yukiyoshi Ozawa. The movie is set in the legendary Aokigahara Forest at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan and tells the story of a young American woman who goes in search of her twin sister who has mysteriously disappeared. Sarah Cornwell and Nick Antosca have written the screenplay based on a story by David S. Goyer (Batman Begins, Man of Steel, Blade). Goyer is also producing the project through his Phantom Four production company, alongside Lava Bear Films.
Nathan Whitehead to Return for ‘The Purge 3’
Nathan Whitehead is set score the upcoming horror thriller The Purge 3. The film is written and directed by James DeMonaco who previously helmed the first two installments in the series and stars Frank Grillo, Betty Gabriel, Edwin Hodge, Kyle Secor, Joseph Julian Soria, Liza Colón-Zayas, Mykelti Williamson and Elizabeth Mitchell. No plot details have been revealed yet. Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity, Insidious, The Gift is producing the project with Sebastien Lemercier (White Bird in a Blizzard), alongside Michael Bay & Andrew Form (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Last Ship) and Brad Fuller for their Platinum Dunes production company.
