John Paesano (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, Daredevil, The Maze Runner, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Cheaper by the Dozen, Truth Be Told) & Adam Hochstatter are returning to score the upcoming Disney+ original animated movie Diary of a Wimpy Kid Christmas: The Getaway. The film directed by Matt Danner is the fifth animated feature adaptation of Jeff Kinney’s popular book series and follows the Heffley family who make a last-minute decision (to Greg’s dismay) to escape to an all-inclusive island resort for some much-needed rest and relaxation and soon discover that paradise may not be everything it’s cracked up to. Kinney also wrote the screenplay and is producing the project.

Multi-Composer Approach for Tony Gilroy’s ‘Behemoth!’ Revealed
Searchlight Pictures has revealed more details about the music for Tony Gilory’s upcoming drama Behemoth!. The movie features numerous fictional sources of music in the film, including two Peter Serian (a French horn player, played by Hank Azaria, who, in the wake of his father’s death, abandoned his classical aspirations to become a successful, albeit bitter, composer) title themes, a solo cello practice Etude, and four “invented” feature films that are being scored. As previously reported, nine composers, credited as The Behemoth! Collective, have contributed original music to the movie. They recorded their respective original scores at the Sony Pictures Scoring Stage, the Newman Scoring Stage at Fox, as well as at Los Angeles’ EastWest Studios.
Rock Burwell Scoring Curry Barker’s ‘Anything But Ghosts’
Composer Rock Burwell is reteaming with director Curry Barker on the upcoming horror comedy Anything But Ghosts. The film is written and directed by Barker and stars Cooper Tomlinson and Barker himself as wannabe “ghosthunters” who find themselves in over their heads as things spiral wildly and terrifyingly out of control. Violet McGraw, Chris Reinacher, Bryce Dallas Howard and Aaron Paul are also starring in the movie. Roy Lee (It, Weapons) and Steven Schneider (Insidious, The Long Walk) are producing the project for Spooky Pictures, alongside Jason Blum (Get Out, Halloween) for Blumhouse, as well as Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath (Heart Eyes, Totally Killer) for Divide/Conquer.

The film is directed by Tom McCarthy (Spotlight, The Station Agent) and stars Paul Rudd, Evan Peters, Paul Giamatti, Amy Ryan, John Turturro, Mary Catherine Garrison, Tatiana Maslany, Nina Arianda and Zach Woods. The movie based on the book Losing Earth by Nathaniel Rich is set at a beachside resort in Florida in 1980, when twenty experts gather for a weekend conference on a global issue that is starting to gain traction: the effects of Co2 emissions on the climate.

The movie follows a former follows a rodeo cowboy who takes matters into his own hands when his daughter is kidnapped for ransom and – with her devoted dog by his side – sets out to bring her home.

D.: The Birth of Christ. The film is directed by Alejandro Monteverde (Sound of Freedom, Cabrini) and stars Deva Cassel, Sam Worthington, Ben Mendelsohn, Gael García Bernal and Jim Caviezel. The movie follows a young Mary who will do anything to protect her newborn son from the murderous King Herod who is obsessed with finding and killing the child. .

Composer Koji Endo is reteaming with director on the upcoming action thriller Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo. The film starring Shun Oguri, Lily James, Shotaro Mamiya, Liv Morgan, Hiroshi Tachi & Jun Kunimura follows a disgraced Tokyo detective who spirals into a world of corruption, addiction, and violence as he becomes entangled in a twister investigation involving an enigmatic FBI agent, a vengeful ex-Yakuza, and a missing daughter of a powerful American family. Daisuke Tengan wrote the screenplay.
