Benjamin Wallfisch revealed in a recent interview with Collider that he is currently scoring the upcoming psychological thriller Keepers. The movie marks the feature debut of Danish director Kristoffer Nyholm (Taboo, The Killing) and stars Gerard Butler, Peter Mullan and Connor Swindells. The film tells the story of three lighthouse keepers arriving on a remote, uninhabited island for a six-week shift, who discover something potentially life-changing that isn’t theirs to keep. Celyn Jones and Joe Bone co-wrote the screenplay.

Alex Heffes Scoring Peter Webber’s ‘Pickpockets’
Alex Heffes has recently composed the music for the upcoming drama Pickpockets (Carteristas). The movie marks director Peter Webber’s first Spanish-language feature and stars Carlos Bardem, Emiliano Pernia, Marcela Mar, Natalia Reyes and Duban Prado. The movie is set in the capital of Bogota and revolves around 16-year old street urchin who, together with two pals, learns the art of pickpocketing from a master in the sleight of hand. Gael Nouaille (Return to Ithaca) is producing the project for Full House.
Cliff Martinez to Score Amazon’s ‘Too Old To Die Young’ & ‘Den of Thieves’
Cliff Martinez is set to reteam with Nicolas Winding Refn on the upcoming Amazon original series Too Old To Die Young. The show is written by Winding Refn & comic author Ed Brubaker (Captain America, The Fade In) and explores the criminal underbelly of Los Angeles. Miles Teller is set to star in the drama as a grieving police officer who finds himself in an underworld filled with working-class hit men, Yakuza soldiers, cartel assassins sent from Mexico, Russian mafia captains and gangs of teen killers. Refn will be directing all ten episodes of the show’s first season.
Gabriel Yared to Score ‘Dilili in Paris’
Gabriel Yared has been hired to score the upcoming animated feature Dilili in Paris (Dilili à Paris). The film is written and directed by Michel Ocelot (Kirikou and the Wild Beasts, Tales of the Night) and follows a young Kanak who investigates a spate of mysterious kidnappings of young girls that is plaguing Belle Epoque Paris and encounters a series of extraordinary characters in the course of her investigation. Christophe Rossignon (Love Me If You Dare, Joyeux Noel) and Philip Boeffard (Mon garçon, The Measure of a Man) are producing the project.
Ian Hultquist Scoring ‘Assassination Nation’
Ian Hultquist is composing the music for the upcoming thriller Assassination Nation. The film is written and directed by Sam Robinson (Another Happy Day) and stars Bella Thorne, Maude Apatow, Bill Skarsgard, Joel McHale, Colman Domingo, Suki Waterhouse, Odessa Young, and Hari Nef. The movie follows four teenage girls in a small suburb who become the focus of unwanted, worldwide media attention when their personal information is leaked by an anonymous hacker.
John Carpenter Confirmed to Score David Gordon Green’s ‘Halloween’
John Carpenter confirmed in a recent interview with Billboard the he has closed a deal to score the upcoming horror sequel Halloween. David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, All the Real Girls, Stronger) is set to direct the movie, which will star Jamie Lee Curtis who will reprise her role as Laurie Strode. Judy Greer in talks to play her daughter, Karen Strode. Green also co-wrote the screenplay with Danny McBride. Jason Blum (Get Out, Split, Paranormal Activity, Insidious) is producing the project through his Blumhouse company, alongside Malek Akkad who previously produced Rob Zombie’s Halloween and its sequel.
Hauschka to Score ‘Young Astrid’
Hauschka (aka Volker Bertelmann) has signed on to score the upcoming biographical drama Young Astrid. The film is directed by Pernille Fischer Christensen (A Soap, A Family) and stars Alba August in the title role, alongside Maria Bonnevie, Magnus Krepper, Trine Dyrholm, Henrik Rafaelsen and Björn Gustafsson. The movie focuses on an event that occurred when Swedish writer Astrid Lindgren was very young and that came to shape her adult life, writing talent and aspirations. Kim Fupz Aakeson wrote the screenplay.
Christopher Lennertz Scoring David E. Talbert’s ‘El Camino Christmas’
Christopher Lennertz is scoring the upcoming Netflix original movie El Camino Christmas. The film is directed by David E. Talbert (Almost Christmas, Baggage Claim) and stars Tim Allen, Vincent D’Onofrio, Luke Grimes, Jessica Alba, Dax Shepard, Kimberly Quinn, Kurtwood Smith, Michelle Mylett, Emilio Rivera and Jimmy O. Yang. The comedy follows a a young man who seeks out a father he has never met and, through no fault of his own, ends up barricaded in a liquor store with five other people on Christmas Eve.
Federico Jusid to Score Dan Fogelman’s ‘Life Itself’
Federico Jusid has been hired to score the upcoming romantic drama Life Itself. The film is written and directed by Dan Fogelman (This Is Us, Danny Collins, Crazy, Stupid, Love) and stars Oscar Isaac, Olivia Wilde, Annette Bening, Antonio Banderas, Samuel L. Jackson, Olivia Cooke, Laia Costa, Mandy Patinkin, Sergio Peris-Mencheta and Alex Monner. The movie revolves around a number of characters whose lives intersect over the course of decades – from the streets of New York to the Spanish countryside.
WaterTower Music to Release Danny Elfman’s ‘Justice League’ Soundtrack
WaterTower Music will release the official soundtrack album for the comic book movie Justice League. The album features the film’s original music composed by Danny Elfman (Spider-Man, Alice in Wonderland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Men in Black) who reportedly is using his theme from Tim Burton’s Batman, as well as John Williams’ Superman theme in his score. The soundtrack is expected to be released digitally in November. The CD version is currently set for a release on December 8 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.
