Mychael Danna (Life of Pi, Moneyball, Capote, Little Miss Sunshine) is composing the music for the upcoming drama The Red Sea Diving Resort. The film is written and directed by Gideon Raff (Prisoners of War) and stars Chris Evans, Haley Bennett, Michael K. Williams, Michiel Huisman, Alessandro Nivola, Greg Kinnear and Ben Kingsley. The movie tells the story of an Israeli agent who runs a secret Mossad operation with a ragtag team of spies to smuggle thousands of persecuted Ethiopian Jews to safety under the cover of a fictitious diving resort in 1981.
West Dylan Thordson Scoring M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘Glass’
M. Night Shyamalan has confirmed on Twitter that West Dylan Thordson is currently scoring the upcoming superhero thriller Glass. The film is written and directed by Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense, Signs, The Village) and stars Bruce Willis as David Dunn, Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price (aka Mr. Glass), James McAvoy as Kevin Wendell Crumb, as well as Anya Taylor-Joy, Spencer Treat Clark, Charlayne Woodard and Sarah Paulson. The movie brings together the narratives of Shyamalan’s 2000 feature Unbreakable (scored by James Newton Howard) and last year’s Split (scored by Thordson).
James Newton Howard to Return for ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 3’
James Newton Howard confirmed in a recent interview on Score: The Podcast that he will be returning to score the third installment in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them series. The composer also revealed that he will be recording his score for the second part, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (set for a release on November 16, 2018) this coming August. David Yates is attached to direct the the second sequel, while Eddie Redmayne and other cast members are other cast members are expected to reprise their roles from the first two movies.

The movie takes place in the heart of New York City at an opulent Russian restaurant and tells the story of a group of people going through the worst crises of their lives.

Michael Andrews has composed the score for the upcoming comedy I Feel Pretty. The film is directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, Gangster Squad) and stars Tom Hardy in the title role, alongside Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze and Reid Scott. Th movie is based Marvel Entertainment’s characters created by David Michelinie & Todd McFarlane. No plot details have been announced yet.

Henry Jackman is currently scoring the upcoming sci-fi action horror thriller The Predator. The film is directed by Shane Black (Iron Man 3, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Nice Guys) and stars Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn, Trevante Rhodes, Keegan-Michael Key, Sterling K. Danny Bensi and Saunder Jurriaans are reteaming with Joel Edgerton on the upcoming drama Boy Erased. The film is written and directed by Edgerton who also stars in the movie alongside Lucas Hedges, Russell Crowe, Nicole Kidman, Joe Alywn, Cherry Jones and Michael “Flea” Balzary. The movie is based on the book Boy Erased: A Memoir of Identity, Faith, and Family by Garrard Conley and centers on the son of a Baptist pastor in a small American town, who is outed to his parents and is faced with an ultimatum: attend a gay conversion therapy program, or be permanently exiled and shunned by his family, friends, and faith.
Alan Menken Scoring Don Hahn’s ‘Howard’
Alan Menken has composed the original score for the upcoming documentary Howard. The film is directed by Don Hahn (Waking Sleeping Beauty) who produced numerous Disney productions, including Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King and The Nightmare Before Christmas. The movie centers on the legendary lyricist Howard Ashman who penned the lyrics and collaborated with Menken on Little Shop of Horrors, The Little Mermaid, Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast before he passed away at the height of the AIDS crisis in 1991.
