BRON announced today that Grammy-nominated producer/rapper El-P (aka Jaime Meline) (of Run The Jewels) has signed on to compose the original score for the upcoming biographical drama Fonzo. The film is written and directed by Josh Trank (ChronicleFantastic Four) and stars Tom Hardy, Linda Cardellini, Jack Lowden, Matt Dillon and Kyle MacLachlan. The movie tells the story of Al “Fonzo” Capone, a ruthless businessman and bootlegger who ruled Chicago with an iron fist. Aaron L. Gilbert (Fences, Beatriz at Dinner) is producing the project for BRON, alongside Russell Ackerman & John Schoenfelder (Hold the Dark) for Addictive Pictures, and Lawrence Bender (Inglorious Basterds, Pulp Fiction) for A Band Apart. Fonzo is currently shooting in New Orleans. No word yet on a release date.
