A.R. Rahman (Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours, A Hundred-Foot Journey, Couples Retreat) is composing the original music for the upcoming American/India/Bangladesh co-production No Man’s Land. The film is directed by Mostofa Sarwar Farooki (Satuday Afternoon) and stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Megan Mitchell and Tahsan Rahman Khan. Rahman also serves as a co-producer on the movie, which chronicles a South Asian man’s journey that becomes complicated when he meets an Australian woman in the U.S.

Tom Holkenborg (Junkie XL) Scoring Adam Wingard’s ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’
Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL) (Mad Max: Fury Road, Deadpool, Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Alita: Battle Angel, Terminator: Dark Fate) has recently been scoring the upcoming monster movie Godzilla vs. Kong. The film is directed by Adam Wingard (The Guest, You’re Next) and stars Alexander Skarsgard, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Eiza González, Julian Dennison, Shun Oguri, Jessica Henwick and Brian Tyree Henry. The Legendary Pictures production pits the two famous monsters against each other in an epic battle. Eric Pearson (Thor: Ragnarok) and Max Borenstein (The Terror) wrote the screenplay. Mary Parent (The Revenant, Pacific Rim), Alex Garcia, Eric McLeod (Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Austin Powers series) and Brian Rogers are producing the project.
Patrick Kirst to Return for Netflix’s ‘The Kissing Booth 2’
Patrick Kirst is returning as the composer of the upcoming Netflix original film The Kissing Booth 2. The movie is directed by Vince Marcello and stars Joey King, Joel Courtney, Jacob Elordi, Meganne Young, Carson White, Taylor Perez, Maisie Richardson-Sellers and Molly Ringwald. The romantic comedy follows Elle Evans after she just had the most romantic summer of her life with her reformed bad-boy boyfriend Noah Flynn and heads back to high school for her senior year. Marcello also co-wrote the screenplay with Jay Arnold based on characters from Beth Reekles’ 2012 young adult book. He is also producing the Komixx Entertainment production with Michele Weisler (Try Seventeen), Andrew Cole-Bulgin and Edward Glauser.
The Newton Brothers to Score Blumhouse’s ‘The Forever Purge’
The Newton Brothers (The Haunting of Hill House, Doctor Sleep, Oculus, Life of Crime) have signed on to score the upcoming thriller The Forever Purge. The film is directed by Everardo Gout (Mars, Days of Grace) and stars Ana de la Reguera, Tenoch Huerta, Leven Rambin, Will Patton and Cassidy Freeman. No plot details have been announced yet for the fifth installment in The Purge series. James DeMonaco who wrote the previous movies and directed the first three parts wrote the screenplay. Jason Blum (Get Out, Paranormal Activity, Halloween, Insidious) is producing the Blumhouse production with James DeMonaco and Sébastien K. Lemercier (White Bird in a Blizzard, Blood Father), as well as Platinum Dunes’ Michael Bay, Brad Fuller & Andrew Form (A Quiet Place, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles).
Debbie Wiseman Scoring John Hay’s ‘To Olivia’
Last week, Debbie Wiseman (Wilde, Wolf Hall, Adventures of Arsene Lupin, Vampire Killers) has recorded her score for the upcoming British biographical drama To Olivia (aka An Unquiet Life). The film is directed by John Hay (There’s Only One Jimmy Grimble) and stars Keeley Hawes as American actress Patricia Neal, Hugh Bonneville as her husband, the British children’s author Roald Dahl, as well as Sam Heughan as screen icon Paul Newman. The movie is set between New York, England and Los Angeles at the beginning of the 1960s, and focuses on Dahl’s struggles to write some of his most famous works and Neal’s return to acting with Hud, for which she finally won an Oscar. Hay also co-wrote the screenplay with David Logan (Circus) based on a novel by Stephen Michael Shearer.
Matthew Margeson Scoring Rachel Talalay’s ‘A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting’
Matthew Margeson (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, Rocketman, Eddie the Eagle) has been tapped to score the upcoming Netflix original film A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting. The movie is directed by Rachel Talalay (Tank Girl, Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare) and stars Tamara Smart, Oona Laurence, Alessio Scalzotto, Indya Moore, Tom Felton and Ian Ho. The family fantasy adventure is based on Joe Ballarini’s book trilogy of the same title and follows a first-time babysitter whose charge is kidnapped by the Boogeyman, when she discovers a secret society of fierce babysitters who protect children – and an entire world of monsters she will have to fight in order to save him.
Hans Zimmer Scoring Barry Levinson’s ‘Harry Haft’
Hans Zimmer has composed the original music for the upcoming drama Harry Haft. The film is directed by Barry Levinson (Good Morning, Vietnam, Sleepers, Avalon) and stars Ben Foster, Vicky Krieps, Billy Magnussen, Peter Sarsgaard, Danny DeVito, Saro Emirrze, Dar Zuzovsky and John Leguizamo. The movie is based on the novel Harry Haft: Survivor of Auschwitz, Challenger of Rocky Marciano by Alan Scott Haft and tells the story of a boxer who survived Auschwitz by being forced to fight fellow prisoners in the concentration camps in ghoulish gladiatorial battles. Justine Juel Gillmer wrote the screenplay.

Michael Yezerski (Blindspotting, Mr. Inbetween, Deputy, Corporate Animals, The Devil’s Candy) has recently scored the new Netflix original film Feel the Beat. The dance movie is directed by Elissa Downs (The Honor List, The Black Balloon) and stars Sofia Carson, Wolfgang Novogratz, Donna Lynne Champlin, Enrico Colantoni, Lidya Jewett, Eva Hauge, Johanna Colón, Sadie Lapidus, Shiloh Nelson, Shaylee Mansfield, Justin Allan, Kai Zen, Carina Battrick, Brandon Kyle Goodman, Ken Pak, Dennis Andres and Amy Stewart. The drama centers on a self-centered dancer who – after blowing a Broadway audition – returns home and agrees to coach a squad of young misfits for a big competition.
Gabriel Yared Scoring Edoardo Ponti’s ‘The Life Ahead’
Gabriel Yared (The English Patient, The Talented Mr. Ripley, 1408, Cold Mountain) has been hired to score the upcoming Italian drama The Life Ahead. The film is directed by Edoardo Ponti and stars Sophia Loren, Ibrahima Gueye, Renato Carpentieri and Massimiliano Rossi. The movie is set in seaside Italy and follows a Holocaust survivor with a daycare business who takes in 12-year-old Momo, a Senegalese Muslim street kid who robbed her. Ponti also co-wrote the screenplay with Ugo Chiti (Dogman) based on Romain Gary’s novel La vie devant soi. Nicola Serra & Carlo Degli Esposti (Piranhas, Leopardi) are producing the project.
Ryan Shore to Score Mark Steven Johnson’s ‘Love, Guaranteed’
Ryan Shore (Prime, The Shrine, Star Wars: Forces of Destiny, Harvard Man, Spy Hunter, Julie’s Greenroom) has been tapped to score the upcoming Netflix original film Love, Guaranteed. The film is directed by Mark Steven Johnson (Ghost Rider, Daredevil, When in Rome) and stars Rachael Leigh Cook, Heather Graham and Damon Wayans Jr. The romantic comedy revolves around an earnest lawyer who – in order to save her small law firm – takes a high-paying case from a charming new client who wants to sue a dating website that guarantees love. Elizabeth Hackett & Hilary Galanoy (Falling Inn Love) wrote the screenplay based on the source material by Cook who is also producing the project with Dan Spilo (Back Roads) and Margret Huddleston & Stephanie Slack (Dangerous Lies).
