Music Super Circus has released a soundtrack album for the Swedish limited series Summer of 1985 (Svärtan). The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Jonas Wikstrand (The Evil Next Door, Super Charlie, Take the Night, Whiskey on the Rocks, Håkan Bråkan). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Summer of 1985 is written by Amy Deasismont & Melina Maraki based on John Ajvide Lindqvist’s novel of the same title and stars Linus Rogsgård, Ture Nerman, Nelly Anderbro, Noel Du Puy, Stina Kristiansen, Sanna Sundqvist, Josefin Neldén and Rolf Lassgård. The 6-part coming-of age thriller follows a group of friends who seeking adventure who uncover an ancient and inexplicable creature they were never meant to find when a teenage boy is found drowned near the mythical island of Svärtan.

Adam Egypt Mortimer’s ‘Pathetic Fallacy’ to Feature Original Score by Johnny Jewel and Songs by Kid Cudi
Johnny Jewel (Bronson, Lost River, Don’t Come Back from the Moon, Holly, Those Who Kill) has been hired to score the upcoming indie supernatural thriller Pathetic Fallacy. The film is directed by Adam Egypt Mortimer (Daniel Isn’t Real, Archenemy) and stars Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi, Jessica Rothe, Travis Fimmel and Natasha Lyonne. Cudi is also contributing original songs to the movie, which follows a young widower who travels to a new-age mountain town in search of cosmic answers, but instead finds an outlandish murderer and a forest of demonic spirits who offer a horrific bargain: the power to cheat death at a nightmarish cost.
‘Abandoned’ Soundtrack Album Released
Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album for the Spanish Disney+/Hulu original documentary series Abandoned (Abandonados). The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Joan Vilà (Everyone Will Burn, Red Summer, Silence, You’re Not Me, Quién eres). . Kris Bowers Scoring Alyce Tzue’s & John Ripa’s ‘Steps’
This past week, Kris Bowers (The Wild Robot, Bridgerton, GOAT, Green Book, Spider-Noir, Haunted Mansion, The Color Purple, Space Jam: A New Legacy, Dear White People) has been recording his score for the upcoming Netflix original animated film Steps. The movie is directed by Alyce Tzue & John Ripa (Raya and the Last Dragon) and stars Ali Wong, Amanda Seyfried, Stephanie Hsu, Daniel Radcliffe, Nikki Glaser, Young Mazino, Peter Dinklage and Bette Midler. The animated comedy tells the story of a misunderstood young woman who is blamed for hijacking the Royal Ball with a stolen magic wand and – after accidentally turning her sister into a frog – must team up with Cinderella (and a surprisingly dreamy troll) to save the kingdom.

Premiering on Wednesday, August 5, is the FX original series The Shards developed by Ryan Murphy & Bret Easton Ellis based on Ellis’ bestselling novel of the same name and starring Igby Rigney, Kaia Gerber, Graham Campbell, Homer Gere, Hayes Warner, Wes Bentley, Jordan Roth and Evan Rachel Wood. The show’s original score is composed by Morgan Kibby (Grotesquerie, Mothering Sunday, Finding Emily, Queens, Wilderness, The Power) & David Klotz (The Watcher, All’s Fair, American Sports Story, The Prom). Troye Sivan & Leland and Hayes Warner have provided original songs to the project. Harris Sepe Films has released a soundtrack album for the faith-based drama Elijah Peel. The album features the songs from the film written by Kevin D. Sepe and performed by lead actor Robert Malcolm Cumming who stars in the title role and by Sepe himself. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. The film’s original music is composed by Academy Award winner Michael Giacchino (Lost, Up, The Batman, Jurassic World, Ratatouille, The Incredibles, Doctor Strange, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Star Trek). Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today. Opening semi-wide in around 700 theaters is the comedy thriller I Want Your Sex written and directed by Gregg Araki and starring Olivia Wilde, Cooper Hoffman, Mason Gooding, Daveed Diggs, Chase Sui Wonders and Charli xcx. James Clements (Now Apocalypse, Bottom of the World, The Blackout Experiments). has composed the film’s original music. No word on soundtrack release. The movie, which follows a fresh-faced young man who lands a job with an artist and provocateur who taps him to become her sexual muse and takes him on a journey into a world of sex, obsession, power, betrayal, and murder, premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and is being distributed by Magnolia Pictures.

Sion Trefor (Say Nothing, Legends, Toxic Town, How to Get to Heaven from Belfast, Death Valley, Waiting for the Out) has teamed up with Ioana Șelaru and Galia Arad to score the upcoming Irish indie drama Lemonade. The film marks the narrative feature directorial debut of documentary filmmaker Kim Bartley (Pure Grit) and stars Lewis Brophy, Barry Keoghan, Carla Tous, Eileen Walsh and Imelda May. The movie is set amid Ireland’s care system and follows a teenager who unexpectedly reconnects with a social worker who once tried to help him but whose own mistakes drove them apart as he becomes both his mentor and mirror.

Peanuts Worlwide has released the original song Home, Where Your Heart Found Me from the Apple TV animated special Snoopy Presents: There’s No Place Like Home, Snoopy . There’s No Place Like Home, Snoopy is inspired by the Peanuts comic strip by Charles M.
