Premiering on Thursday, May 5, is the Netflix comedy event series The Pentaverate created by Mike Myers, directed by Tim Kirkby and starring Myers himself, Ken Jeong, Keegan-Michael Key, Richard McCabe, Debi Mazar, Jennifer Saunders and Lydia West. The show’s original music is composed by the electronic music duo Orbital (Phil & Paul Hartnoll) (Event Horizon, Pusher). Also premiering on Thursday, is the Paramount+ original series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds created by Akiva Goldsman, Alex Kurtzman & Jenny Lumet and starring Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn and Ethan Peck. Nami Melumad (Star Trek: Prodigy, An American Pickle, The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window, Absentia) is composing the show’s original score and Jeff Russo (Fargo, Star Trek: Discovery & Picard, Legion) has written the main title and end title music. Also premiering on Thursday is the HBO Max limited series The Staircase created by Antonio Campos and starring Colin Firth, Toni Collette, Michael Stuhlbarg, Juliette Binoche, Dane DeHaan, Olivia DeJonge, Rosemarie DeWitt, Tim Guinee, Sophie Turner, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Vincent Vermignon, Odessa Young and Parker Posey. The show’s original music is composed by Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (Ozark, The Outsider, The Gift, Boy Erased, Enemy, The White Tiger, Martha Marcy May Marlene). Premiering on Friday, May 6 is the Showtime documentary Sheryl directed by Amy Scott about Sheryl Crow’s iconic yet arduous musical career. Heather McIntosh (Compliance, The Art of Self-Defense, Z for Zachariah, Guilty Party, The L Word: Generation Q, The Quarry, 6 Balloons) has composed the film’s original score. UMe/Big Machine Records will release a soundtrack album featuring Crow’s biggest hits and three newly recorded tracks on Friday.
