Danny Bensi & Saunder Jurriaans (Ozark, The Outsider, Boy Erased, The GiftEnemy, The White Tiger, Martha Marcy May Marlene) are scoring the upcoming HBO Max limited series The Staircase. The show is created by Antonio Campos and stars Colin Firth, Toni Collette, Michael Stuhlbarg, Dane DeHaan, Juliette Binoche, Olivia DeJonge, Rosemarie DeWitt, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Tim Guinee, Sophie Turner, Vincent Vermignon, Odessa Young and Parker Posey. The 8-part true crime drama tells the true story of Michael Peterson, his sprawling North Carolina family, and the suspicious death of his wife, Kathleen Peterson. Campos (who directed six of the eight episodes) is also executive producing the Annapurna Television production with co-showrunner Maggie Cohn. Leigh Janiak (Fear Street, Honeymoon) directed the other two episodes. Bensi & Jurriaans have previously collaborated with Campos on the features Simon Killer, Christine and The Devil All the Time. The Staircase will premiere on May 5, 2022 exclusively on HBO Max.
