Premiering tonight is the Showtime docu-series The Reagans directed and executive produced by Matt Tyrnauer about the rise and reign of America’s ultimate power couple, Ronald & Nancy Reagan. The show’s original music is composed by Lorne Balfe (Mission: Impossible – Fallout, The LEGO Batman Movie, His Dark Materials, The Crown, Home, Bad Boys for Life) who previously scored Tyrnauer’s features Studio 54 and Where’s My Roy Cohn?. Premiering on Wednesday, November 18, is the documentary Crazy, Not Insane directed and produced by Alex Gibney about Dr. Dorothy Otnow Lewis, a psychiatrist who has dedicated her career to studying murderers and seeking answers as to why people kill. Will Bates (Unbelievable, Away, I Origins, The Magicians, The Looming Tower, Nightflyers) who has previously scored numerous of Gibney’s documentaries has composed the film’s original music. The movie, which premiered at this year’s Copenhagen International Documentary Festival and also screened at the 2020 Venice Film Festival will debut in the U.S. exclusively on HBO and HBO Max.
Also premiering on Wednesday is the Hulu original series No Man’s Land created Maria Feldman, Eitan Mansuri, Amit Cohen & Ron Leshem and starring Félix Moati, Mélanie Thierry, Joe Ben Ayed, Souheila Yacoub, James Purefoy, James Floyd and Dean Ridge. The show’s original music is composed by Rutger Hoedemaekers (Trapped, The Last Berliner). Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score this past Friday. Another show premiering on Wednesday is Disney Television Animation’s animated shorts series The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse executive produced by Paul Rudish. Christopher Willis (The Death of Stalin, Veep, The Personal History of David Copperfield, The Lion Guard) is composing the show’s original music. Premiering in the U.S. on Thursday, November 19 is the Britsh dramedy I Hate Suzie created by Billie Piper & Lucy Prebble and starring Piper herself, Leila Farzad, Daniel Ings and Nathaniel Martello-White. The show’s original music is composed by Johnny Lloyd & Nathan Coen (Rare Beasts). SATV has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score earlier this month. Also premiering on Thursday is the Netflix original film The Princess Switch 2: Switched Again directed by Mike Rohl and starring Vanessa Hudgens, Sam Palladio, Suanne Braun and Nick Sagar. Alan Ari Lazar (An American Crime, Holiday in the Wild, The Most Hated Woman in America, Gangster’s Paradise: Jerusalema) has composed the film’s original music. Also premiering on Thursday is DreamWorks Animation’s animated series TrollsTopia executive produced by Matthew Beans and starring Skylar Astin, Amanda Leighton, Ron Funches, Kenan Thompson, David Flynn, Megan Hilty, Kat Graham, Jeanine Mason and Kevin Michael Richardson. Mica Levi (Jackie, Under the Skin, Monos, Marjorie Prime) has composed the show’s original music. Also premiering on Friday is the thriller Run co-written and directed by Aneesh Chaganty and starring Sarah Paulson, as well as Kiera Allen about a teenage girl whose life begins to unravel as she discovers her mother’s sinister secret. The film’s original music is composed by Torin Borrwdale (Searching, Locke & Key).
