Premiering on Thursday, November 2, is the new CBS drama S.W.A.T. developed by Aaron Thomas, produced by Shawn Ryan and starring Shemar Moore, Stephanie Sigman, Alex Russell, Jay Harrington, Lina Esco, Kenny Johnson and Peter Onorati. The show’s original music is composed by Robert Duncan (Castle, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, The Unit, Timeless). Madison Gate Records has released a digital single featuring new version of the theme from the 70s series performed by Duncan. Premiering on Friday, November 3, is the mini-series Alias Grace created Sarah Polley and starring Sarah Gadon, Anna Paquin, Zachary Levi, Paul Gross, Edward Holcroft, Kerr Logan, Rebecca Liddiard and David Cronenberg. Jeff Danna (The Good Dinosaur, Storks, The Boondock Saints) & Mychael Danna (Life of Pi, Moneyball, Capote) have composed the show’s original music. Premiering on Saturday, November 4, is the Lifetime original movie The Lost Wife of Robert Durst directed by Yves Simoneau, written by Bettina Gilois and starring Katharine McPhee and Daniel Gillies. The film’s original music is composed by H. Scott Salinas (Birth of the Dragon, City of Ghosts, Murder in the First, Cartel Land). The movie centers on the wife of Robert Durst who falls in love with the real estate scion, only to find their marriage turning stranger, darker and more disturbing as time passes. Missing from last week’s TV music roundup was the NBC animated holiday special The David S. Pumpkins Halloween Special executive produced by Lorne Michaels and featuring the voices of Tom Hanks, Peter Dinklage, as well as co-writers Mikey Day, Bobby Moynihan and Streeter Seidell. Mark Mothersbaugh (Thor: Ragnarok, The LEGO Movie, 21/22 Jump Street, The Royal Tenenbaums) has composed the project’s original score. The animated comedy follows David Pumpkins and his skeleton sidekicks who show a young boy and his sister the true meaning of Halloween. The special premiered last night on NBC.
Also missing from last week’s roundup was the Lifetime original movie Flint directed by Bruce Beresford and starring Betsy Brandt, Jill Scott, Marin Ireland and Queen Latifah. The film’s original music is composed by John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, The Jungle Book, Elf, Iron Man 2, Bruce Almighty).
