Also premiering in the U.S. today is the British comedy Funny Woman developed by Morwenna Banks based on Nick Hornby’s novel Funny Girl and starring Gemma Arterton, Rupert Everett, Tom Bateman, Clare-Hope Ashitey, David Threlfall, Alexa Davies, Arsher Ali and Emily Bevans. Nainita Desai (The Deepest Breath, For Sama, The Reason I Jump, CrossfireThe Tower, American Murder: The Family Next Door) has composed the show’s original score. Premiering on Tuesday, January 9, is Marvel Studios’ Disney+ limited series Echo developed by Marion Dayre and starring Alaqua Cox, Chaske Spencer, Graham Greene, Vincent D’Onofrio, Tantoo Cardinal, Devery Jacobs, Zahn McClarnon and Cody Lightning. The show’s original music is composed by Dave Porter (Breaking Bad, The Disaster Artist, Better Call Saul, PreacherHightown, The BlacklistTerm Life). Hollywood Records & Marvel Music have released a first track from the composer’s score this past Friday and a full soundtrack album is expected to come out in the coming weeks. Premiering on Wednesday, January 10, is the British Apple TV+ original series Criminal Record created by Paul Rutman and starring Peter Capaldi, Cush Jumbo, Shaun Dooley, Charlie Creed-Miles, Stephen Campbell Moore, Zoë Wanamaker, Dionne Brown, Maisie Ayres, Aysha Kala, Rasaq Kukoyi, Cathy Tyson and Tom Moutchi. Neil Davidge (UnleashedPush, Halo 4Britannia, Monsters: Dark Continent, Earth Moods) and Mikey J Asante (Queen Cleopatra) have composed the show’s original music. Premiering on Thursday, January 11, is the Australian Netflix limited series Boy Swallows Universe developed by John Collee based on Trent Dalton’s novel and starring Travis Fimmel, Phoebe Tonkin, Simon Baker, Sophie Wilde, Zac Burgess, Felix Cameron, Bryan Brown, Lee Tiger Halley and Anthony LaPaglia. Also premiering on Thursday is the Peacock original event series Ted created by Seth MacFarlane and starring MacFarlane himself, Max Burkholder, Alanna Ubach, Giorgia Whigham and Scott Grimes. The show’s original music is composed by Walter Murphy (Family Guy, American DadWiseguy, Raw Force, The Late Bloomer) who previously scored both Ted features in 2012 and 2015. Premiering on Friday, January 12 following a one-night-only theatrical release this past Wednesday is the comedy Self Reliance written and directed by Jake Johnson and starring Johnson himself, Anna Kendrick, Natalie Morales, Andy Samberg, Christopher Lloyd, Wayne Brady, GaTa, Emily Hampshire and Mary Holland. Dan Romer (Luca, Maniac, Beasts of the Southern Wild, Station Eleven, The Good Doctor, Beasts of No Nation, Superman & Lois) has composed the film’s original music.
