Premiering tomorrow, May 31, is the CW drama Tom Swift created by Melinda Hsu Taylor, Noga Landau & Cameron Johnson starring Tian Richards, Ashleigh Murray, April Parker Jones, Marquise Vilsón, Albert Mwangi and LeVar Burton. The show’s original music is composed by Matthew Head (P-Valley, Boomerang, The Family Business). The series, which is inspired by the Tom Swift book series and revolves around the title character who was introduced in the network’s Nancy Drew, will air every Tuesday on the CW.
Premiering in the U.S. on Thursday, June 2, is the British drama This Is Going to Hurt created by Adam Kay based on his book of the same name and starring Ben Whishaw, Hannah Onslow, Ambika Mod, Michele Austin, Rosie Akerman and Andreea Paduraru. JARV IS…, led by Jarvis Cocker (of Pulp), have composed the film’s original music. Rough Trade Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the artist’s score and songs earlier this year. Also premiering on Thursday is the Danish TV series Borgen: Power & Glory created by Adam Price and starring Sidse Babett Knudsen, Mikkel Boe Følsgaard, Birgitte Hjort Sørensen, Magnus Millang, Simon Bennebjerg and Özlem Saglanmak. The show’s original music is composed by August Fenger Janson (aka ELOQ) (Chosen). The Bank Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score on Thursday. Premiering on Friday, June 3, is the Hulu original movie Fire Island directed by Andrew Ahn and starring Joel Kim Booster, Bowen Yang, Zane Phillips, Tomas Matos, James Scully, Conrad Ricamora, Matt Rogers, Nick Adams, Torian Miller and Margaret Cho. Jay Wadley (I’m Thinking of Ending Things, Indignation, Swan Song, I Carry You with Me, Olympic Dreams) has composed the film’s original music. Also premiering on Friday is the Disney+ original movie Hollywood Stargirl directed by Julia Hart and starring Grace VanderWaal, Judy Greer, Tyrel Jackson Williams, Elijah Richardson, Nija Okoru, Judd Hirsch, Al Madrigal and Uma Thurman. The film’s original score is composed by Rob Simonsen (Ghostbusters: Afterlife, Love, Simon, The Adam Project, Foxcatcher) and Duncan Blickenstaff (Alex, Inc., LA to Vegas). Michael Penn (Girls, Masters of Sex) serves as the project’s executive music producer. A soundtrack album will be released on Friday by Walt Disney Records.
