Bear McCreary has composed the music for the upcoming supernatural thriller The Forest. The film is directed by Jason Zada and stars Natalie Dormer, Taylor Kinney, Eoin Macken and Yukiyoshi Ozawa. The movie is set in the legendary Aokigahara Forest at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan and tells the story of a young American woman who goes in search of her twin sister who has mysteriously disappeared. Sarah Cornwell and Nick Antosca have written the screenplay based on a story by David S. Goyer (Batman Begins, Man of Steel, Blade). Goyer is also producing the project through his Phantom Four production company, alongside Lava Bear Films. McCreary has previously collaborated with Goyer on the TV shows DaVinci’s Demons and Constantine. The Forest is set to be released on January 8, 2016 by Gramercy Pictures.
In addition to his television work on such shows as Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Damien and The Walking Dead, the composer also has the horror thriller The Boy coming up.
