Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the horror thriller The Apparition. The album features the film’s original score composed by tomandandy (Resident Evil: Afterlife, The Strangers). The soundtrack will be released on August 21, 2012 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips from all tracks on the album below. The Apparition is directed by Todd Lincoln and stars Ashley Greene, Tom Felton and Sebastian Stan. The Dark Castle Entertainment production follows a young couple that discover they are being haunted by a presence that was accidentally conjured during a university parapsychology experiment.

Two new movies are opening in wide release this weekend:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the ensemble romantic comedy New Year’s Eve directed by Garry Marshall and starring Ashton Kutcher, Jessica Biel, Sarah Jessica Parker, Halle Berry, Robert De Niro, Sofia Vergara, Jon Bon Jovi, Hilary Swank, Lea Michele, Zac Efron, Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges, Josh Duhamel, Seth Meyers, Hector Elizondo, Abigail Breslin, Michelle Pfeiffer and Katherine Heigl. A soundtrack album featuring the songs from the film has been released by WaterTower Music on Tuesday. For the full track list and audio clips, visit our previous article. John Debney has written movie’s score, but no score album has been released so far. Also opening wide is the comedy The Sitter directed by David Gordon Green and starring Jonah Hill, Sam Rockwell, Ari Grayner, Erin Daniels, Jessica Hecht and Method Man. The film’s score is written by David Wingo and Jeff McIlwain. A soundtrack album featuring one track from the score, as well as the songs from the movie by artists including The Sugarhill Gang, Slick Rick, Cluts, Pharcyde, The Jungle Brothers and Raphael Saadiq has been released on Sony Music earlier this week. ‘I Melt With You’ Soundtrack Details
Lakeshore Records has announced the details of the soundtrack release for the drama I Melt With You. The album includes one track from the film’s score by tomandandy, as well as songs from the movie by artists including Big Dipper, Filter, The Pixies, Galaxie 500, The Specials, Funkadelics, Love and Rockets and Modern English. ‘Fastest’ Soundtrack Details
Milan Records has announced a soundtrack release for the documentary Fastest. The album features the score composed by tomandandy (Resident Evil: Afterlife, The Strangers). The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 1, 2011 and a CD version is scheduled for a December 6 release and is available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips from all tracks on the album can be checked out after the jump. Fastest is directed by Mark Neale who previously helmed the 2003 documentary Faster. The movie about the intense and thrilling reality of the MotoGP World Championship, documenting a pivotal moment in the sport was shot around the world in 2010 and 2011 and is narrated by Ewan McGregor.
Tomandandy Scoring ‘Identity’ Pilot
The composer duo of tomandandy has recently scored the pilot for the ABC show Identity. The project centers on an elite police unit formed to combat the explosion of identity-related crime. The pilot stars Wentworth Miller (Prison Break), Angela Bassett (Malcolm X, ER), Tony Curran (The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen) and Orlando Jones (The Time Machine). The project is based on the BBC TV show created by Ed Whitmore with the same title. Writer and producer John Glenn (Eagle Eye, The Lazarus Project) is adapting the show for American television. Mark Gordon (Criminal Minds, Grey’s Anatomy) is executive producing through his production company. The pilot is directed by Gary Fleder, known for his feature film work including Kiss the Girls, Runaway Jury and Don’t Say a Word.

The composer duo tomandandy has been chosen to score the upcoming thriller I Melt with You. The film focuses on four lifelong friends who, during their annual get-together, realize that their lives haven’t exactly turned out the way they expected. The movie is directed by Mark Pellington, who previously collaborated with tomandandy on Arlington Road (alongside Angelo Badalamenti) and The Mothman Prophecies. He recently used composer John Frizzell on his last movie Henry Poole Is Here. I Melt with You stars Carla Gugino, Jeremy Piven, Thomas Jane and Rob Lowe. The independently financed movie will premiere at the upcoming Sundance film festival in January.

The composer duo tomandandy has been hired to score the upcoming horror thriller The Apparition. In the movie, a couple is haunted by a supernatural presence that is unleashed during a college experiment. The film, which is currently in post-production is directed by Todd Lincoln and stars Tom Felton and Ashley Green. The Apparition is produced by Joel Silver through his Dark Castle Entertainment company and will be released by Warner Bros on September 9, 2011.
Tomandandy to score Resident Evil: Afterlife
The composer duo tomandandy has been chosen to provide the score for the upcoming sequel Resident Evil: Afterlife. The movie marks director Paul W.S. Anderson’s return to the directing chair to the franchise after he only wrote and produced the last two parts in the series. His original Resident Evil movie featured a score by Marco Beltrami and Marilyn Manson. The sequel Resident Evil: Apocalypse was scored by Jeff Danna, while Resident Evil: Extinction received a score by Charlie Clouser. The fourth part of the series is the first entry for tomandandy and stars once again Milla Jovovich, as well as Wentworth Miller and Ali Larter. Screen Gems is planning to release the movie on September 10. For the first time in the series, the movie will be released in 3D.
