‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ Soundtrack Update
Since our last update on the music for the upcoming adventure sequel Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, we have learned more information about Hans Zimmer’s soundtrack for the film. The music is being recorded this week in Los Angeles and one of the featured musicians that joined the production’s team is jazz trumpet player Arturo Sandoval. Sandoval is no stranger to film music, having previously worked on the soundtrack for Mambo Kings and having scored a few projects himself, including the Award-winning TV drama For Love and Country: The Arturo Sandoval Story starring Andy Garcia. Sandoval has won an Emmy Award for his original score for the film. He also previously worked with Hans Zimmer on this year’s animated feature Rango, which has lead to their second collaboration on the fourth Pirates movie. Also involved in Rob Marshall’s movie is composer and conductor Eric Whitacre who has co-written one of the film’s new themes according to his blog.
