Aleph Records will release a soundtrack album for the horror anthology film Tales of Halloween. The album features the movie’s original score written by composers including Joseph Bishara (The Conjuring, Insidious), Christian Henson (The Devil’s Double), Austin Wintory (Journey), Christoper Drake (Tusk), Bobby Johnston (Mother’s Day), Michael Sean Colin (Killjoy Goes to Hell), Edwin Wendler (Unnatural), Jimmy Psycho (The Jimmy Psycho Experiment) and Sean Spillane (Jug Face). Also included is the film’s main titles theme composed by Lalo Schifrin (Mission: Impossible, The Amityville Horror). The soundtrack will be released exclusively on iTunes on October 23, 2015. Tales of Halloween weaves together ten chilling tales from horror directors including Neil Marshall, Darren Lynn Bousman, Lucky McKee, Mike Mendez and Ryan Schifrin.

Complete ‘The Amityville Horror’ and ‘Cool World’ Soundtracks Announced
Quartet Records has announced the world premiere release of the complete score for the 1979 horror thriller The Amityville Horror directed by Stuart Rosenberg and starring James Bronlin, Margot Kidder and Rod Steiger. The film’s original music is composed and conducted by Lalo Schifrin (Mission: Impossible, Bullit, Enter the Dragon, Rush Hour). The soundtrack features the complete score from the MGM production in mono on one disc and the surviving stereo tracks, as well as a number of bonus tracks on the second disc. The limited edition CD is now available for pre-order on the label’s official website, where you can also listen to audio samples.
Lalo Schifrin’s ‘The President’s Analyst’ and ‘Man on a Swing’ Scores Released
Quartet Records has announced a soundtrack featuring the world premiere release of two original scores composed and conducted by Lalo Schifrin (Mission: Impossible, Enter the Dragon, Rush Hour, The Amityville Horror). The album features the composer’s complete score for the 1967 The President’s Analyst directed by Theodore J. Flicke and starring James Coburn. Also included is Schrifrin’s music for the 1974 thriller Man on a Swing directed by Frank Perry and starring Cliff Robertson and Joel Grey. La-La Land Records has released a new soundtrack release for the Planet of the Apes television series based on the 20th Century Fox sci-fi feature franchise starring Roddy McDowall, Ron Harper and James Naughton. Quartet Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1991 action thriller sequel F/X2 directed by Richard Franklyn (Psycho II, Link) and starring Bryan Brown and Brian Dennehy. The album features the film’s original score written and conducted by Academy Award-nominated composer Lalo Schifrin (Mission: Impossible, Enter the Dragon, Bullit, Rush Hour) who followed Bill Conti who scored Robert Mandel’s original 1986 film. Basil Poledouris’ ‘Flight of the Intruder’ Score Released
Intrada Records has announced the world premiere release of the soundtrack for Paramount Pictures’ 1991 Vietnam war-set action drama Flight of the Intruder directed by John Milius and starring Danny Glover, Willem Dafoe and Brad Johnson. The film’s music is composed and conducted by Basil Poledouris who also collaborated with the director on such films as Conan the Barbarian, Red Dawn and Farewell to the King. The album features the composer’s complete score, as well as two alternates and the world premiere of complete trailer music written by John Beal. Basil Poledouris’ Complete ‘Conan the Barbarian’ Soundtrack Announced
Intrada Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release of the complete score for the 1982 epic adventure Conan the Barbarian directed by John Milius and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as Conan, James Earl Jones as Thulsa Doom and Sandahl Bergman as Valeria. The album includes the complete score composed by Basil Poledouris (Robocop, Starship Troopers), as well as the original 1982 soundtrack album and a number of alternates. Lalo Schifrin to Receive Max Steiner Award
Lalo Schifrin has been chosen as the recipient of this year’s Max Steiner Film Music Achievement Award, which will be presented at the annual Hollywood in Vienna Concert at Vienna Concert Hall on October 22, 2012. The concert will present selections of Schifrin’s compositions performed by the Vienna Radio-Symphony Orchestra under the direction of David Newman. The Max Steiner Award honors extraordinary achievements within the genre of film music by the musical capital of Austria, Vienna. Previous recipients of the honor include Alan Silvestri, Howard Shore and John Barry. Schifrin has written over 100 film and television scores including Mission Impossible (including the show’s iconic title theme), Mannix, Cool Hand Luke, Bullitt, Amityville Horror, Enter The Dragon, four of the Dirty Harry films and the Rush Hour trilogy. Throughout his career, the composer has won five Grammy Awards (twenty-two nominations) and received six Academy Award nominations. Schifrin CD Box Set announced
Film Score Monthly has announced a new 5 CD box set for Lalo Schifrin scores from the 60’s. The set limited to 2000 copies includes his score for The Cincinnati Kid (1965) starring Steve McQueen and directed by Norman Jewison, featuring a song based on the main theme performed by Ray Charles. In addition, the set includes Schifrin’s first Hollywood score to the adventure movie Rhino! (1964), his jazz score for the film noir Once a Thief (1965) starring Alain Delon and Jack Palance, as well as his scores for the international espionage movies The Venetian Affair (1967) and Sol Madrid (1968). Finally, one disc is devoted to bonus tracks from Schifrin’s other MGM scores from the period, including such TV projects as Medical Center and The Mask of Sheba.
