Bear McCreary has composed the music for the upcoming sci-fi mystery thriller 10 Cloverfield Lane. The film is directed by Dan Trachtenberg and stars John Goodman, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Gallagher Jr. The movie is said to be related to Matt Reeves’ 2008 feature Cloverfield and follows a young woman who wakes up in a stranger’s basement after a car accident and is told her life was saved from a chemical attack that has left the outside uninhabitable. J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Trek, Super 8) is producing the project through his Bad Robots company with Lindsey Weber.

The track list of the soundtrack album for Star Wars: The Force Awakens has appeared on international Amazon stores. The album features the film’s original music composed by John Williams (Jurassic Park, Raiders of the Lost Ark, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone). The soundtrack will be released on December 18, 2015 by Walt Disney Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Star Wars: The Force Awakens is directed by J.J. Alex Heffes to Score Hulu’s ’11/22/63′
Alex Heffes has been tapped to score the upcoming Hulu event series 11/22/63. The show is based on Stephen King’s 2011 novel of the same title and stars James Franco, Sarah Gadon, Josh Duhamel, T.R. Knight, Daniel Webber, Chris Cooper, Cherry Jones, George MacKay, Lucy Fry, Jack Fulton and Leon Rippy. The 9-parter follows a high school English teacher who travels back in time to prevent the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, but his mission is threatened by Lee Harvey Oswald and his falling in love and the past itself. J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Star Trek, Super 8) and King are executive producing the Bad Robot and Warner Bros. Television production with Bridget Carpenter (The Red Road) and Bryan Burk (Lost, Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Star Trek Into Darkness).
‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Teaser Trailer Features Original Music by John Williams
The first teaser trailer for Episode VII in the Star Wars series, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, premiered in select theaters and online today. John Williams recorded original music for the trailer earlier this month at Sony Pictures’ scoring stage in Los Angeles. Check out the full teaser after the jump. ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ Deluxe Edition Soundtrack Announced
Varese Sarabande has announced a deluxe edition for J.J. Abrams’ 2013 sci-fi action adventure Star Trek Into Darkness as the label’s latest release in the CD Club series. The 2-CD set is limited to 6000 copies and features the film’s expanded score composed by Michael Giacchino (Up, The Incredibles, Lost, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Ratatouille). Visit the label’s website to order the soundtrack and listen to audio clips. Varese has previously released the regular soundtrack album when the film opened in theaters last summer and also released a deluxe edition of Giacchino’s’ first Star Trek score. Star Trek Into Darkness starring Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, Benedict Cumberbatch and Peter Weller is now available on Blu-ray and DVD.

Premiering tonight on Fox is the new futuristic drama Almost Human created by J.H. Wyman, executive produced by J.J. Abrams & Bryan Burke and starring Karl Urban, Michael Ealy, Minka Kelly, Lili Taylor, Mackenzie Crook and Michael Irby. Electronic music duo The Crystal Method who previously composed the main titles theme for the Fox series Bones are composing the show’s original score. J.J. Abrams has composed the main titles theme, which will be introduced in the second episode, which will premiere tomorrow, November 18. ‘Revolution’ Soundtrack Details
WaterTower Music will release a soundtrack album for the NBC hit series Revolution. The album features selections of the original score from the first season of the show composed by Christopher Lennertz (Identity Thief, Hop, Horrible Bosses, Supernatural). Also included is the opening theme composed by executive producer J.J. Abrams. The soundtrack will be released on September 3, 2013. Audio clips are available after the jump. Revolution created by Eric Kripke and starring Billy Burke, Tracy Spiridako, Anna Lise Phillips, Elizabeth Mitchell, Zak Orth and Giancarlo Esposito follows a family who struggles to reunite in a post-apocalyptic American landscape. The show’s first season will also be released on September 3 on Blu-ray and DVD and the second season is set to premiere on Wednesday, September 25.
John Williams to Score ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’
Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy announced today at Star Wars Celebration Europe that John Williams will return to score the upcoming sci-fi fantasy sequel Star Wars: Episode VII. J.J. Abrams is directing the film and Michael Arndt (Toy Story 3, Little Miss Sunshine) is writing the screenplay. No plot details have been announced yet, but the characters of the original trilogy, including Luke Skywalker (played by Mark Hamill), Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher) and Han Solo (Harrison Ford) are expected to return. Lawrence Kasdan and Simon Kinberg serve as consultants, alongside George Lucas. Williams has scored all previous six episodes of the Star Wars saga. Star Wars: Episode VII is set to be released in 2015 by Walt Disney Pictures.

Paramount Pictures has published a short video featurette on the music for J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek Into Darkness. The video features an interview with Academy Award-winning composer Michael Giacchino (Up, Lost), as well as footage from the score’s recording sessions earlier this year. Chris Tilton Scoring ‘Human’ Pilot
Chris Tilton is scoring the pilot for the sci-fi cop buddy cop drama Human. The show is created by J.H. Wyman (The Mexican, Dead Man Down) and stars Karl Urban, Michael Ealy, Minka Kelly, Lili Taylor, Mackenzie Crook and Michael Irby. The project is set in the near future when all LAPD officers are partnered with highly evolved human-like androids and follows a respected police officer who has shut down emotionally after a tragic mission that claimed the lives of nine of his fellow elite officers. Brad Anderson (The Machinist, The Call) directed the pilot episode. Wyman is executive producing the Warner Bros. TV and Bad Robot production with J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk (Lost, Person of Interest, Star Trek).
