Three new movies are opening wide this weekend:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the film adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s sci-fi novel Ender’s Game directed by Gavin Hood and starring Asa Butterfield, Hailee Steinfeld, Ben Kingsley, Viola Davis, Abigail Breslin and Harrison Ford. Steve Jablonsky (Transformers series, Battleship) has composed the film’s original score. Varese Sarabande has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music. Also opening wide is the animated feature Free Birds directed by Jimmy Haywardand featuring the voices of Woody Harrelson, Owen Wilson, Amy Poehler, Dan Fogler, Lesley Nicol, George Takei, Colm Meaney and Keith David. The film’s original music is composed by Dominic Lewis. Relativity Music Group has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as two songs by Social Distortion and MattyBRaps. Canderblinks will release a soundtrack album for the biographical drama Diana. The album features the film’s original music composed by David Holmes (Ocean’s Eleven, Out of Sight, Analyze That) and Keefus Ciancia (Nashville). The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 28, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on 
Rachel Portman is scoring the upcoming biographical drama Diana. The film is directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel (Downfall, The Experiment) and stars Naomi Watts in the title role alongside Naveen Andrews who portrays the heart surgeon Dr. Hasnat Khan. The film centers on the last two years of Princess Diana’s life and the secret love affair she had shortly before her tragic death. Douglas Hodge, Geraldine James, Charles Edwards and Juliet Stevenson are co-starring. Stephen Jeffreys (The Libertine) wrote the screenplay and Robert Bernstein & Douglas Rae (Becoming Jane, The Water Horse, Nowhere Boy) are producing the project for Ecosse Films. Diana has recently been picked up by Entertainment One for domestic distribution.
